Hong Kong stocks open higher

HONG KONG, March 20, (APP/AFP) - Hong Kong stocks edged up in the first few minutes of trade Monday, extending last week's gains. The Hang Seng Index added 0.16 percent, or 39.87 points, to 24,349.80. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index climbed 0.11 percent, or 3.66 points, to 3,241.11 but the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, eased 0.09 percent, or 1.73 points, to 2,028.00.
