Army has no connection with Panamagate JIT

RAWALPINDI: Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor Bajwa has said on Sunday that Pakistan Army does not have a direct relation with Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT).
Major General Ghafoor briefed the media today over ongoing security operations in the country and answered questions posed by journalists in attendance.
While answering a question, the ISPR DG said that the military is not directly related to the Panamagate and the JIT formed by the top court. However, the investigation team had two members of Military Intelligence (MI) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) and they honestly shoulder their duties.
He announced that Operation Khyber IV was launched by the army today in Shawal and Rajgal. He informed the media that it was going to be a rather difficult land operation owing to the treacherous terrain and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) would supplement the army.
Major General Asif Ghafoor added that 500 families are forced to live away from their homes. He affirmed that the hideouts of terrorists will be ousted. - NNI
