 National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) marketing insured agri loans



LAHORE: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) is providing loans to farmers after adopting proper insurance process. The NBP Chairman and President Syed Ali Raza told APP here on Sunday that in case of death of the borrower, the respective insurance company would pay the loan amount instead of his heirs. The bank took this initiative to protect the aggrieved family from any hassal, he said.
Replying to a question, he said, NBP is making all-out efforts to facilitate the farmers to maximum extent, as the government is focusing on boosting agriculture, which is the backbone of Pakistan.
Ali Raza added that the bank has also rationalised the loan process for the farmers, so that they could contribute largely in the country's GDP, by adopting the modern techniques of cultivation.
NBP President also assured to reward the farmers (borrowers) who would yield maximum agri culture production.
The Sitara-i-Imtiaz holder Ali Raza said that NBP is laying greater emphasis on agriculture, corporate and retail banking through its distinctive brands of products, asserting that it would keep providing wide range of products and services to all segments of the society across the country as a leading commercial bank and super regional bank of Central Asia, Middle East and South Asia.
The Asian Banker awarded Leadership Achievement Award 2007 to Ali Raza, while, 'Business Week' of The McGraw Hill Companies adjudged him as one of the 25 Leaders of Asia.
In his capacity as NBP chief, he also implemented new policies to improve the efficiency of bank's management and skill development of its employees, he said, citing that quality people turn any institution into an excellent entity.
The NBP also arranged workshops on 'Change Management' for its senior executives, who were taught about using a systematic change management approach to identify stakeholders and implement a change plan to minimise productivity impacts, while embedding the capability to continuously improve performance of the individual and organisation in a changed environment, he maintained. -APP
