Nawaz advocate Maryam to ‘leave’ country immediately

3.Nawaz advocate Maryam to ‘leave’ country immediately

Less than 24 hours after the Lahore High Court ordered the restoration of Maryam Nawaz’s passport, she departed for London at 10 a.m. on October 5 on the directions of the party’s leader and her father, Nawaz Sharif, according to party sources.

A “stitch in time,” according to sources, the decision to depart the country immediately was made as a result of worries about the lengthy march preparations of PTI’s archrival and its potential success that were indicated in reports from government agencies.

According to accounts, Maryam sought sanctuary in London under the protection of her father rather than waiting for the other shoe to drop like the rest of her siblings.

They continued by saying that the decision was motivated by worries about potential political repercussions from former prime minister Imran Khan moving closer to the federal capital, which was formerly the political haven of the PML-N-led coalition but is now less powerful due to PTI’s unrelenting march toward electoral success in provinces.

The government authorities had informed Nawaz Sharif that Imran Khan had a good chance of winning his long march, in order to prevent any potential political uproar of this nature.

Party insiders stated that Maryam Nawaz “may have encountered problems while staying in the country in case the PTI’s potential long march succeeds” and added that she won’t be able to return to Pakistan until the PTI’s long march toward Islamabad has passed and the dust has settled.

She travelled in the country to spend a month with her father, who has been in London since November 2019, after three years apart, and the two of them were reunited last week. During this stay, she will apparently have a medical treatment, and it is widely believed that she and Nawaz Sharif will travel back to Pakistan together.

Political observers, however, deemed the situation to be “counterintuitive,” given that Maryam was apparently given the responsibility of reorganising the party and was anticipated to travel quickly around Punjab areas in support of the October 16 by-elections.

Additionally, it should be remembered that the PML-N has frequently chosen in recent years to rely on Ms. Sharif’s abilities to turn around its shaky electoral prospects by fielding her locally to lead its canvassing by herself.

As one under wings

According to the sources, Maryam Sharif is the most recent Sharif to seek protection in London under her father’s wing; three of her siblings are already there. The sources also said that with Maryam’s arrival, Nawaz Sharif has successfully secured his whole family overseas.

Hamza Shehbaz and the prime minister Shehbaz Sharif are now in Pakistan.

The party leaders in Pakistan, including PM Shehbaz and Hamza Shehbaz, may experience difficulty if the long march is successful and the federal government falls, according to party sources.
