6th Women Chess: 3 rounds conclude in the first phase

KARACHI: The first phase of 6th National Women Chess Championship-2018 ended on the opening day of the Championship. Up till now three Swiss Rounds have been concluded and the former National Women Champion Zenobia maintains unbeaten run scoring 3 out of three points the only two other contenders Saira and Tooba are chasing her with 3-points score, says a Press release.

Tooba a promising star from Lahore; surprisingly toppled experienced player Mehak Gul, although Mehak have so far played at least 4-chess Olympiads failed to resist her opponents hurricane attacks and finally Tooba forced Mehak to resign. Hence, she recorded the first up-set of the Championship. Tooba by her sterling display out played Mehak, and did not let her opponent escape from the jaws of defeat.

In other important matches Zenobia beat Abiha Waseem; Saira Rafiq beat Samreen Mirza; Maliha beat Alina Zahid; Kainat Asghar beat Amima Faisal; Kashaf Kamran beat Anna Shah; Arfa Tareen Beat Shirjeela Kirn and Rafia Zai Beat Arsalana Tanveer.

This event Organizer is hosted Wasif Nisar, International Arbiter, FIDE from Sindh Chess Association expect some more exciting & wonderful move from girls & Ladies of various parts of the country; participating in this highest ranked event of the women Chess in Pakistan, from where the title of National women Master could be obtained on excellent performance but it must fulfill the criterion set for this Title “NWM”.
