MILAN (Italy): Independence Day (Youm-e-Azadi) was observed on 14 August (Wednesday) here at the Pakistani Consulate General, Wednesday. The day is observed annually to mark the independence Pakistan had achieved in 1947 and was declared a sovereign state following the end of the British Raj.
Pakistan came into existence as a result of the Pakistan Movement, which aimed at creation of an independent Muslim State in the north-western regions of South Asia via partition. The movement was led by the All-India Muslim League under the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

In Europe, from 15th to 18th of August all Pakistani, Kashmiri, Sikhs, and other nationals are going to start a campaign against Modi regime. In addition, we will protest here at Milan outside the Indian Consulate to mark the Indian Day of Independence on August 15 as a Black Day, and I urge you all people to participate in that protest. We are with our Kashmiri people, and we will stand ever side-by-side with Kashmiris.
