AGHAM KOT: In Agham Kot, District Badin, on Monday the annual central mourning procession of District Badin was held in commemoration of the Chehlum of the martyrs of Karbala, with strict security measures put in place by the district administration.
As part of this central mourning procession, thousands of mourners, including men and women, from across Sindh participated in the Arbaeen Walk and paid their respect at the Roza-e-Athar Bibi Maham Hazrat Khadija bint Imam Musa Kazim (SA) from dawn until night.
It is noteworthy that Arbaeen Walk processions are held across the country only on the day of Chehlum, but this is the only place in the country where, from the 11th of Safar to the 20th of Safar, thousands of men and women participate in Arbaeen Walk processions continuously for 10 days. By the tenth day, millions of male and female mourners have paid their respects at Roza-e-Athar Bibi Maham (SA).
On Tuesday, on the day of Chehlum, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Badin and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Badin visited Agham Kot to review the arrangements and security measures.
The members of the Religious Affairs Committee of Agham Kot informed the DC and SSP about the issues they were facing. On this occasion, Zawar Abdul Sattar Dars presented copies of his new book as gifts to the DC of Badin, the SSP of Badin, and other officials.
