KARACHI: CSR is like giving back to the society, it is realization of concerns for humanity said Ateeq Ur Rehman CSR & CSI Activist in his Inaugural speech at CSR 2020 here at a local hotel, Thursday.
While introducing the conference Ateeq emphasized on financial assistance and continued cooperation by corporate, individuals, financial institutions, public/private bodies to genuine NGOs, who are working massively for health, education, social work and community development.
Ateeq urged that the financial support to NGOs has declined by donors due to poor economic conditions in the country, he mentioned that the basic concept of CSR 2020 Karachi Conference and Awards is to request for sustainability of Funds by Donors to authentic NGOs subsequently the budget allocation for health, education and community services by successive Governments is negligible due to Financial Supply Chain Deficits by them.
CSR 2020 was inaugurated by Siraj Qassim Teli (Chairman BMG and Former President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry). Mehmood Tareen (CEO, TPN) in his welcome address thank the well-wishers and sponsor of CSR 2020. Also the inaugural event was attended and addressed by Rear Admiral Jamil Akhter (Chairman, KPT), Rear Admiral Mukhtar Khan (DG, Bahria University), Toshi Kazu Isomura (Consul General of Japan) and Ms. Rehma Khairi (DM, Engro Foundation).
