Case filed on suspicion of chasing NAB officer

ISLAMABAD: A suspicious car started following the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Deputy Director Asad Mahmood Janjua on Friday.

According to details, the car with license plate number followed Asad Janjua from his office to home. The windows of the vehicle were fully tinted.

A case has been filed at Islamabad’s Golra Shareef police station over the anti-corruption watchdog’s complaint against unidentified persons under sections 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

As per the anti-graft agency sources, Asad Janjua is head of the raiding team of the NAB Rawalpindi, and had arrested erstwhile president Asif Ali Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. – NNI
