ISLAMABAD: Center for Belt & Road Initiative and China Studies-Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, Islamabad organized a seminar on “Boao Forum for Asia and China’s Growing Prospects in the World”, says a Press release.
Ms. Shanza Gulzar Khan, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, and Government of Pakistan graced the round table as Chief Guest while Zhao Lijian, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Islamabad was a key note speaker. Ambassador (Retd) Syed Hasan Javed, Director Chinese Study Center, School of Social Sciences and Humanities, NUST, Islamabad, and Dr. Azhar Ahmad, HOD Humanities & Social Sciences Bahria University, Islamabad constituted the panel of other distinguished speakers.
While speaking to the audience, Zhao Lijian presented the vision of China as Primer Li of China shared his vision in Boao Forum China 2019 held on March 28, 2019 in Boao, China. He was of the view that China is “Promoting economic growth, improving people’s livelihood, establishing fair, transparent, and predictable business environment and regional integration” and last but not least China is creating new patterns of innovative development and strengthen cooperation in innovation” which are common goals for all Asian countries”.
Chief Guest Ms. Shanza Gulzar Khan, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, and Government of Pakistan was of the view that the world is facing 4th industrial revolution and it is the critical time for developing and underdeveloped states to catch up with this race by bringing the huge youth bulge in the mainstream through innovation and providing opportunities. Govt of Pakistan is trying its best to promote the economic well-being of the country by taking various innovative steps required and necessary.
Ambassador Syed Hassan Javed made the participants familiar with the Boao Forum and its potential to promote multilateralism. He was of the view that Boao Forum solely made for corporate and private sector investment platform to promote mutual growth in Asia.
Dr. Azhar Ahmad, HOD Humanities & Social Sciences Bahria University, stated the reasons why Boao Forum was initiated. It was in response to the integrated economic policies of the United States of America with allies in Pacific Region which led China to initiate equally potential platform.
The round table seminar was attended by large number of Ambassadors, diplomats, academia, diplomatic envoys, representatives of Chamber of Commerce industries, media groups and students representing different higher education institutions in Pakistan.
