KARACHI: Serious irregularities, non-compliance and violation impede main streaming of Trade Organizations exploiting the genuine business practices stated by Director General Trade Organization Waqar Ahmed Shah, when he is addressing as the Key note speaker in 5th DGTO Consultative session of capacity building of Secretaries General and office-bearers of Trade Organizations of Southern Region, here at a local hotel, Monday.
He said kickbacks, incentives, short term gains, non-compliance of Trade Organization Act 2013 not only damaging their image but also the real business peoples are suffering from it, so there is the dire need to improve our regulatory regime and policy frame work for the betterment of this country.
He said, many trade bodies taken the support from their respective High Courts and conduct their un fair elections and form dummy trade bodies for their western interest and One man show, but from now on wards we are going to tighten up our regulatory mechanism and will cancelled their licences to curb this un fair trade activities.
FPCCI is the highest apex body of this country but we have serious concerns about them that we received so many complaints against them and we took the serious notice.
He emphasized on the need to grow up the domestic trade activities and legitimate bodies should play their proactive role and collaborate among themselves to attract the foreign investment.
Imran Khan, Deputy Director, DGTO gave his presentation about the role of office-bearers of trade bodies. This event was organized in close collaboration of DGTO and Pakistan Knitwear Sweaters Exporters Association (PAKSEA).
