Egyptian envoy calls on COAS, mutual ties and security argued

RAWALPINDI: Egyptian Ambassador Ahmed Muhammad Fadel Yacoub on Monday called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa here at General Headquarters, said an Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) press release.

According to the ISPR, matters of mutual interest, regional security and Pak-Egypt relations were came under discussion during the meeting.

It is pertinent to mention here that Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat had visited Egypt and called on Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at the presidential palace in Cairo on March 29.

The two figures discussed matters of bilateral strategic interest at the meeting, with particular emphasis on evolving regional security situation, the ISPR had said in a statement.

The CJCSC also met with Minister of Defence and Commander in Chief of Egyptian Armed Forces General Sedky Sobhy. – NNI discussed
