WASHINGTON: Amazing China, the third Travelogue book written by Manzar Naqvi, Executive Editor ‘The Financial Daily International’ and Secretary General, Karachi Editors Club has been launched in USA at a Book Welcoming Ceremony arranged by the Global Beat Foundation (GBF) at Ashburn Library Hall Virginia, Washington, Saturday.
Nuzaira Azam, President GBF in her welcoming address introduced GBF and highlighted its aims and objectives. After the brief introduction of author and his book, she invited Manzar Naqvi to share his experiences of his traveling of China and reasons for writing the book on China.
Manzar Naqvi, in his presentation in details highlighted long lasting Sino-Pak relations and developments in China, especially in the last decade. Naqvi lauded the remarkable development in China, especially the policies of the President of China Xi Jinping. Belt & Road programme of China is a connectivity and infrastructure development programmme that would provide to give boost to trade between China and the countries region, he said.
He also informed the gathering that around 80 countries are participating in the Belt & Road programme while India will soon be a joining it. He said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is the flagship project of B&R with the Chinese investment for 62 billion US dollar while whole Belt and Road Programme investment is estimated at 10 trillion US dollar.
He also shared his experience of travel to Turkey and its developments. At the Question-Answer session, Naqvi answered various questions from the audience about Pak-China relations, and appreciated the Pakistani-American’s interest in both countries’ development and relations.
Manzar Naqvi, on this occasion, presented honourary membership certificate of KEC to Nuzaira Azam on behalf of Karachi Editors Club and also presented his book to her and to Dr Zafar Iqbal who played an important role in the launching of book “Amazing China” in USA.
