Govt committed to resolve journalists’ problems: Firdous

HAFIZABAD: Special Assistant on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the government is committed to promote journalism and resolve journalists’ problems.
She was addressing the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected office bearers of Hafizabad Press Club at Hafizabad on Sunday evening.
She said a uniform policy is being evolved to provide medical facility to journalists across Pakistan through health card.
The Special Assistant also announced a grant of one million rupees for upgradation of Hafizabad Press Club to the level of National Press Club of Islamabad. She promised that the issue of residential colony for journalists in Hafizabad will be taken up with the Punjab Government to provide residential facilities to media workers.
Keeping in view fertile land of Hafizabad district, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said the government is also working on a plan to provide quality seed, fertilizers, pesticides, and modern technology, on affordable prices, to farmers to boost the agriculture sector in the country.
She also commended the services rendered by Member National Assembly Shaukat Ali Bhatti and his family for the people of Hafizabad.
Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the PTI government is taking effective measure to ensure the provision of justice to the people in accordance with its manifesto.
She said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has steered the country out of crises and the economy is thriving day by day.
She said the government is fully aware of the troubles of the people due to sky rocketing prices of items of daily use.
Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan held the former rulers responsible for the prevailing dearness saying that it is the result of their ruthless expenses, plunder and extravaganza.
She said that devolution of power at grass-root level is the mission of the prime minister.
She said that the PPP has lost its credibility due to corruption but the party chairman speaks about umpire’s finger at every rally although the real umpire is the people of Pakistan who defeated the PPP.
“Bilawal Bhutto will have to mourn like this for the next four years,” she said and added the masses will again elect Prime Minister Imran Khan after four years. – NNI
