I am at Shangahi, China again, it’s my 5th visit to China and 6th to Shanghai (Thank You China). This time I am invited by International Department of China Communist Party (CPC). Chinese are celebrating 5th anniversary of Belt and Road Initiatives (BRI) this month of September 2018 which was inaugurated on September 9th 2018 by Xi Jinping, Secretary General of CPC and President of China.14 international scholars are participating in this “New Stories of Silk Road” arranged by CPC, 5 from Pakistan including myself, 4 from India and 5 from Myanmar.

We reached at 4:00 PM at Shanghai Pudong Airport Tuesday along with 9 other scholars from Pakistan and Myanmar. At Shanghai Airport, Yang Qianshuo Press Office, International Department Central Committee Communist Party of China (IDCPC) along with his team received the delegates warmly and arranged checked-in of all delegates at Hongqiao State Guest Hotel Dhanghai. After the checked-in all delegates were taken to a lavish dinner at Palm Island Café at a walking distance from the guest house.
During the 10-day visit the delegation will be visiting: on Wednesday (today) at Quyang Community for cultural activities, Shanghai Construction Company and have a seminar; visit Oriental Pearl Tower. On Thursday September 13, will visit Shanghai City Planning Museum, and then in the afternoon will proceed to Wuhai via Train G1720. On September 14, will visit Donghu Innovation Park, Fiberhome Technology Company and Wuhan City Planning Museum. On September 15, will visit Baibuting Community, visit Hubei Provincial Museum and Yellow Crane Tower. On September 16, will proceed to Beijing via Flight CA8203 where they will be attending a Seminar with China Foundation for Peace and Development on the morning of Septemebr 17, and in the afternoon will visit China Communication Construction Company and China Daily. On September 18, a Seminar has been arranged with officials from Public Information and Communication Bureau of IDCPC and in the same afternoon a seminar with experts from the Party School of CPC, while on September 19, Morning Seminar with the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University will be held and a visit of the Palace Museum and go shopping at Silk Street has been arranged. On September 20, all delegates will leave Beijing for their respective destinations.

From India: Kulkarni Sudheendra, Former Chairman of the Observer Research Foundation Mumbai; Kumaraswami Sridhar, Senior Assistant Editor of the Asian Age; Bilgi Sampgod Arun, Associate Editor of the Deccan Herald; and Sharma Rajendra, Editor of the Newspaper of Communist Party of India (Marxist).
From Pakistan: Manzar Naqvi, Executive Director of the Financial Daily, Karachi-Lahore; Ayesha Alam, Professor of Hazara University; Ahmad Rashid, Director of China-Pakistan Study Center of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad; Muhammad Asif Noor, Director of the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies; Humaira Awais Shahid, Ex-MPA Senior Editor of the DailyKhabrain Group.
From Myanmar: Aye Kyu, Secretary of the Communication Commission of the Myanmar National League for Democracy; Thaung Tun, Member of the Communication Commission of the Myanmar National League for Democracy; Wai Phyo Han, Member of the Communication Commission of the Myanmar National League for Democracy; Hlaing Myint Han, Editor of D Wave Journal; and Thet Aung, Journalist of D Wave Journal.
After a long travel from their respective countries all delegates were tired and they all went to sleep after the memorable welcome dinner.

Indeed BRI is a very impressive, amazing and successful program of the President Xi Jinping for the regional development and connectivity.
