HEC trains Sindh College faculty to improve teaching methodology

KARACHI: The Higher Education Commission, Pakistan (HEC) has taken a significant step towards enhancing the quality of higher education in Pakistan by conducting a two-day Faculty Capacity Building Program for College Education Department, Government of Sindh under the auspices of Higher Education Development in Pakistan (HEDP) as a Post Secondary Reform Unit held at the HEC Regional Center in Karachi from May 20-23, 2024, aimed to equip over 100 faculty members from various colleges in the region with the latest educational technologies and teaching methodologies, says a Press release.
The training, divided into two cohorts, was led by experts from International Islamic University, Islamabad and Dr. Abid Shehzad from the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. It covered a range of modules, including online teaching, technological assessment, learning management systems, and student feedback, among others.
The program’s closing ceremonies were attended by Javed Ali Memon, Incharge HEC Regional Center Karachi.
Javed Memon underscored that HEC is committed to improving the quality of higher education in Pakistan. He maintained that by empowering faculty members with the latest tools and techniques, HEC aims to ensure that affiliated colleges in Sindh can provide students with a world-class education, contributing to the overall development of the higher education sector in the country.
