ISLAMABAD: A Model United Nations (MUN) Conference is a three-day event organized at certain learning institutes. It not only encompasses rigorous debates and a comprehensive lesson in international diplomacy, but also has breaks at the end of the day so that the participating “delegates” can relax from the debating session and enjoy a “Social” event each of the three days of the MUN, which can range from raves to concerts, to even a Carnival, says a Press release.
Beaconhouse Margalla Islamabad Diplomats’ Conference (BMIDC) is the Model United Nations conference held at Beaconhouse Margalla Campus each summer. Aside from being among the largest MUNs of Islamabad, it is among the most prestigious and famous, with prominent delegations attending from across Pakistan.
The opening ceremony was honoured by the presence of Saffia Cassim (Cluster Head North), Ayesha Ansar (Principal BMI) and Sidra Qasim (Headmistress BMI-B). Students were encouraged on their enthusiasm and balloons were released to inaugurate the event.
BMIDC 2019 had an extremely successful beginning and the host team will make sure it has an even more triumphant end.
