London flats owned by Nawaz when he was PM: Imran Dogar

Investigation officer of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Imran Dogar in the Avenfield properties reference against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his family has said that NAB investigations proved that Nawaz Sharif was the owner of the Avenfield properties while holding the public office.

Imran stated this during the resumed recording of his statement in the court today.

“London flats were purchased through the offshore companies using someone else’s name to hide the ownership,” he told the court.

The investigation officer stated, Nawaz and his family failed to provide any source of income for purchasing these properties, he also added that Nawaz Sharif and his family were using London flats since 1993.

Nawaz Sharif and daughter Maryam Nawaz could not appear before the court due to rough weather in Lahore.

Maryam Nawaz’s attorney Amjad Pervez also failed to appear before the court for the same reason his associate counsel submitted a power of attorney on behalf of his client.

The Avenfield properties reference is among three cases filed against Nawaz and his family by NAB in 2017 on the Supreme Court’s directives.
