PAS Welcome Reception: Pak-USA ties to improve
JoAnne Wagner who is very nice decent American lady with vast experience of US Foreign services has assumed the charge of Consul General as the United States Consulate at Karachi, in June. A career diplomat of the United States Senior Foreign Service, she most recently served in Washington, DC with the Board of Examiners, helping to select the next generation of US diplomats. Prior to that, CG Wagner was the US Assistance Coordinator in Kyiv, Ukraine, where she was responsible for coordinating US Government support activities with the Ukrainian Government and other donors.
She also served as Minister-Counselor for Political Affairs at the United States Mission to the European Union, Deputy Director of the Office of Pakistan Affairs, Deputy Counselor for Political-Military Affairs at the United States Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, and Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy in Bujumbura, Burundi.
Her Excellency JoAnne Wagner hosted a PAS Welcome Reception during the reported week at her residence which was attended by elites of the city and senior journalist. Objective of the reception was to introduce US envoys and set the directions to Improve PAK-USA relations.
Ms Wagner in her very lively, lovely, smiley and introductory address emphasized to boost trade, political and bilateral relations between the two countries. She said Pakistan have very rich cultural heritage and cultural exchange program should be enhanced among the two countries. She pointed out that people to people contact of both countries must be enhanced for better understanding among the both countries.
JoAnne Wagner in her address also used some Urdu words and introduced her team members whom are serving with her to take Pak-US relations at the next level. After attending the reception, I thought that relations among the both countries must be improved further due to sincere efforts, dedication and hard work of Ms Wagner along with her very talented and experienced team.
Tariq Jamali appointed Acting President NBP
Ministry of Finance has appointed Tariq Jamali, as the Acting President/Chief Executive Officer of National Bank of Pakistan. He is a thorough professional banker with 30 years of successful banking career. He joined NBP in 1987 and has held various Senior Management positions at Regional and Head Office levels. During his career at NBP he has served as Group Chief of Logistics Support Group, Commercial and Retail Banking Group and Compliance Group.
Presently, he was serving as Group Chief, Asset & Recovery Group. He is also Director of National Assets Insurance Ltd, Atlas Power Ltd, Fatima Fertilizer Company Ltd, Galadari Cement Gulf Ltd, Karachi Council on Foreign Relations and National Construction Ltd. He holds an MBA degree from University of Dallas and Bachelors in Civil Engineering from USA.
Throughout his career Jamali has successfully performed in every challenging sphere of banking activities. He has unique ability to manage resources at finest level by keeping an eye on best industry practices/regulations for effective policy making and formulating strategies for superlative services.
He is armed with diversified work experience, knowledge and knack of working at different levels of management. It is expected that due vast experience of Jamali NBP will be achieving new miles stone in future.
Pakistan S-E Asia Business Forum
Sahebzadi Maheen Khan with aim to enhance foreign investment in Pakistan has all set to organize “The Pakistan South East Asia Business Forum” on Saturday September 8, 2018 at a local hotel in Karachi. In the opening and closing sessions Murad Ali Shah Sindh Chief Minister and President Azad Jammu And Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan are expected to be the chief guests respectively, while renowned local and international business Icons will be addressing the Forum.

PPEMF hosts reception in honour of Rizwan
Z.H Khurram President Pakistan Print and Electronic Media Foundation (PPEMF) hosted a reception in honour of USA based Rizwan Ahmed who was on his Pakistan visit. He is son of Jamal Panipati a renowned poet, social and literary personality.
Nusrat Mirza, renowned journalist and TV Anchor in his address appreciated services of Rizwan. He said Rizwan is an asset of Pakistanis living in USA. Z.H Khurram, Ahmed Saeed, Ali Raza, Nadeem Hashmi, Dr Ainur Raza and various other also appreciated services of Rizwan Ahmed for Pakistan. At the end Rizwan also awarded life time achievements award from PPEMF.
