10th NBP Snooker Championship 2018
Shaukat Mahmood Executive Vice President (EVP) and Divisional Head of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) during the reported week in a press conference at Karachi Gymkhana announced sponsorship of Rs 1.3 million for 10th NBP Snookers Championship 2018 being held from August 5 to August 13, 2018 at NBP Sports Complex, Clifton Karachi organized by Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA). Shaukat Mehmood, on behalf of NBP assured to continue patronage to the baize game under corporate social responsibility in future also.
President PBSA, Munawwar Hussain Shaikh on this occasion said prize money of Rs 1,85,000 has been set aside for the top eight players besides Rs 5,000 for the highest break. He said prize money for the winner and runner-up has also been enhanced to Rs100,000 and 40,000 respectively.
He said 40 top Ranking Players of Pakistan divided into 8 groups will be participating in the championship.
Iqbal Qasim, legend cricketer of Pakistan who been rejoined NBP as Sports Chief also appreciated efforts of PBSA for organizing 10th Snooker Championship. He assured his full cooperation to PBSA.
Badal Do!
Badal Do is the 21st century learning programme, which earlier in the year saw graduation of over 400 Karachi-based teachers inculcating good social values, is all set to enter into its second phase during the current month.
At the orientation ceremony of the programme held during the reported week, the management of 120 private schools enrolled in Phase II of the programme were briefed about how the programme will unfold in their schools by their teachers, to create a ripple effect in the community through students.
In the first phase, only private schools were included but in the second phase the founding team of Badal Do! has also approached government-run schools. The key themes that will be focused on are: Reflective Thinking, Civic Responsibility, Cultural Engagement and Character Building.
While sharing her opinion on the Badal Do initiative, Rumana Hussain, who was one of the motivational speakers at the orientation ceremony, said that training of teachers would surely make future of our children bright.
Nasir Hussain, principal at a private school in Gulshan-e-Iqbal said they were quite hopeful that the Badal Do drive would come up to their expectations and would bring about positive change in the society.
The Badal Do! roll-out phase is spread over six months, with school managements, parents, guardians, related community members and leaders included in it for the sake of broader community outreach.
Music of Load Wedding unveiled
The music of the upcoming blockbuster Load Wedding, presented by Filmwala Pictures and Geo Films released during the reported week. Filmwala Pictures in collaboration with Zee Music Co. released one video track of the song “Rangeya” along with five audio tracks from the film Load Wedding. The music of the movie is composed by the music maestro Shani Arshad who had also composed Actor in Law’s and Na Maloom Afraad’s hit songs earlier.
The album of the film consists of beautiful composition matched with soulful lyrics and brilliant playback singing. From some groovy dance numbers to melodious romantic tracks, Load Wedding songs will be relatable to the audience in every mood. The music of the film also brings out the beautiful essence of Punjab in its melody and lyrics. The songs show the effortless on-screen chemistry between Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat through which they continue to steal our hearts with their endearing avatar, dance moves and oh-so-perfect expressions. The album of Load Wedding consists of these 5 tracks: Rangeya, Good Luck, Munday Lahore De, Kooch Na Karin and Fakeera.
