39th Anniversary of victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran

Ahmad Mohammedi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran at Karachi and Mrs Mohammadi hosted a dinner to celebrate 39th Anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran. Muhammad Zubair Governor Sindh was the chief guest on this occasion while various renowned personalities from all walks of life like Syed Nasir Hussain Shah Minister for Information Government of Sindh, Ghanva Bhutto, Muzaffar Hashmi, Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui, Maulana Amin Shaheedi, Allama Abbas Kumaili, Moeenuddin Haider, various Consul Generals of different countries based at Karachi and various renowned personalities of the city attendd this reception.
It was noted that this year in the Iranian reception ladies were also invited. Mohammadi created the history by allowing women which was indeed a good sign appreciated by everyone.
Muhammad Zubair in his address as chief guest, appreciated sincere efforts of Ahmad Mohammadi, the Iranian CG at Karachi for enhancing bilateral, cultural and trade relations between the two countries. He said Pakistan was the first country that recognized victory of Islamic Revolution of Iran in 1979. The Governor congratulated the Iranian nation living in Iran and in every corner of the world on 39th anniversary of the revolution.

DIBL & ZDC sign agreement for Branchless Banking

Dubai Islamic Bank Limited (DIBL) Pakistan & Zing Digital Commerce signed an agreement for deployment of Branchless Banking platform. This agreement will pave the way for digitalization of banking products to enable the Bank in offering variety of products to the unbanked segments of the country.
With this agreement, Dubai Islamic Bank will partner with Zing Digital Commerce who have developed a comprehensive Branchless Banking platform in collaboration with its Chinese Technology Partner i.e. Shanghai F-Road. This alliance shall fulfill DIBP’s vision to offer quality financial services at grassroots level with convenience and reliability at customer’s door step.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan Junaid Ahmed, said: “This agreement would trigger a fast paced implementation for digitalization of banking products. With this platform, DIB Pakistan will offer an array of products mainly to the unbanked population and in line with SBP’s strategy for financial inclusion. It is also to be highlighted that SBP has provided an enabling framework for the financial industry to tap the huge potential of the unbanked economy which will be a major contributor for economic growth”.

A media junket was held here at The Patio to announce the launch of the upcoming drama series, “Aakhri Station.” Lead actor Sanam Saeed, vocalist Tahira Syed, writer Anum Mufti, director Sarmad Khoosat, musician Arshad Mehmood, producer Roshaneh Zafar, and creative media head, Moneeza Hashmi were all present and gladly answered all questions put forward to them by the media present there.
Based on real-life stories, the series is set to air from 13th February, at 9pm on ARY Digital. “Aakhri Station” is a seven-episode mini-series produced by Kashf Foundation touching upon important social issues plaguing our society, and highlights women and gender specific issues in a sensitive and realistic manner.

Karachi Editors Club (KEC) organised a seminar on the topic of ‘Trinagle Alliance: USA, India and Israel – A threat or Challenge’ at Beach Luxury Hotel Karachi during the reported week. Muhammad Zubair Governor Sindh was the chief guest on the occasion. Mubasher Mir President KEC along with Azeem Qureshi General Manager of Hotel Beach Luxury received the Governor.
Agha Masood Hussain, Col. Mukhtar Butt, Dr. Muhammad Ali Ehsan, Barrister Shahida Jamil, Prof. Talat Wazarat, Dr Meraj-ul-Huda Siddiqui, Dr. Shujaat Mubarak, Zahid Hussain, Jamil Ahmed Khan, Agha Muhammad Saleh, Air Marshal (Retd) Zafar Hussain, Vice Admiral Sadeed Anvar Malik, Vice Admiral Asaf Humayoon and Vice Admiral Syed Arifullah Hussaini were the speakers of the seminar while renowned dignitaries from media, academia, armed forces, politicians and various other elites attended the seminar.
