Mayor Karachi meets KEC

Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar invited Karachi Editors Club for a meeting to discuss latest situation and issues of Karachi at Frere Hall during the reported week.

While addressing the members of KEC at length during one hour and fifteen minutes with facts and figures he pointed out a mafia in Sindh Government is major hurdle for the development of Karachi in addition to power grabbing by Sindh government while Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah showed positive attitude some times to resolve the issues.

Waseem said all revenue generating departments has been taken by Government of Sindh and they are not releasing proper budget to Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) even to meet workers salaries from last two years. He blamed Sindh government have involved in mega corruptions in the name of Mega Projects in Karachi.

Mubasher Mir, President KEC in his welcoming address briefed the history in brief of KEC and it achievements in a short span of time. He asked Mayor to arrange proper premises for KEC offices in the city.

Mukhtar Aqil, Senior Vice President KEC assured his full cooperation to Mayor on behalf of KEC to fulfill his goals for the developments of Karachi.

Secretary General KEC advised to Mayor to start his revolutionary work for Karachi on “Help yourself” basis with the help of citizens of Karachi who will cooperating with Mayor with zeal of zest in resolving their issues. Citizen of Karachi are the basic strength of Mayor. After this Waseem will be emerging a most powerful Mayor of Karachi.
The KEC meeting was largely attended by KEC members and ever one asked questions with Mayor.

Tasawar-e- Inqilab aur Josh

Pakistan Print and Electronic Media Foundation (PPEMF) arranged a book launching ceremony of the book “Tasawar-e-Inqilab aur Josh” written by renowned scholar Dr Alia Imam at Governor House Karachi.
Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair was the chief guest on this occasion while renowned Scholar Shakeel Adilzada presided over the book launching ceremony.
Shakeel Adil Zada, Dr Nasreen Pervez, Mubasher Mir, Khursheed Hyder, ZH Khurrum in their addresses on the occasion lauded efforts of Dr Alia Imam in compiling of this book. Dr Ain Ur Raza conducted the all ceremony beautifully.

Battle of the Bands

Pepsi launched the first ever albums of Battle of the Bands 2017 winner and runner-up bands – Kashmir – the band and Badnaam, at Karachi during the reported week.
This event fulfills another promise made by Pepsi to the music lovers of Pakistan at the time of Pepsi Battle of the Bands 2017. After two months and eight weekly episodes on television and social media, Pepsi Battle of the Bands ended with the trophy going to Kashmir the band, while the Sufi-rock band Badnaam were declared runners-up, in the final conclusion of the show on the basis of public votes. As a reward for their outstanding performance, Pepsi committed the release of music albums to the top 2 bands of the season – a promise that Pepsi fulfilled tonight.
The evening began with a Blue Carpet hosted by model/actor Rabya Chaudhry abuzz with media taking pictures of the high-profile guests as they entered the decorated venue. A meet-and-greet session followed hosted by Anushay Shahid. She introduced the marketing manager of Pepsi Co. Muneeza Anwar, who welcomed the guests.
A documentary of Badnaam, the runner up finalists of Pepsi Battle of the Bands was shown after which Badnaam was invited on stage. The three band members individually responded to some interesting and fun questions by Anushay, much to everyone’s delight.

Na Band Na Baraati

ZASHKO Entertainment is an American Film studio organized a meet and greet session with the star cast and crew of upcoming Pakistani comedy movie, ‘Na Band Na Baraati’ and gave a sneak preview of three songs of the movie to the media and glitterati present at the event held at Karachi during the week.
This movie is directed by Mehmood Akhtar and produced by Zain Farooqi and entirely shot in Canada, mostly in outdoor locations to engage a broad range of audience, story of the movie is penned by Harish Kumar Patel and comprises a promising cast including some of the bigwigs of Pakistan’s entertainment industry Mikaal Zulfiqar, Qavi Khan, Atiqa Odho, Azra Mohyeddin, Shayan Khan, Nayab Khan, Mehmood Akhtar, Komal Farooqi, Ali Kazmi and others.
