Shahryar Afridi meets Editors at Karachi

Shahryar Khan Afridi, Minister of State for Interior is one of the dynamic and young leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) who wishes and trying to resolve internal, external and all national issue with the cooperation and guidance of his leadership. Afridi visited Karachi for two days during the reported week. During this visit he met to senior Editors of Karachi on very short notice at the Governor House. In this meeting he disclosed that he stayed at Karachi at the Rangers Guest House instead of Governor House, aim was behind to improve Civil-Military relationship. He disclosed that after reaching Karachi he is continuously visiting different parts of Karachi freely without any protocol and refused laying routes for him. He said without free and undisclosed movement he cannot get proper issues and solutions of this city. He said when he will face himself traffic jams then will be able to find its proper solution. He said all the day during his visit he took lunch at restaurant on his way, he met Governor Sindh, Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, IG Sindh and various other official. He also visited Quaid’s mausoleum and offered Fateha there along with five other graves at the premises of renowned leaders of Pakistan.

He said Karachi is mother of all cities and collects 65 percent revenue for the country. He said he also visited Passport offices, NADARA offices without showing his identity. He said, it is a matter of concern that only three Passport offices are serving for above 18 million population at Karachi. He admits that there is nothing to proud for him.

He said media is 4th pillar of the State, and our media always supported PTI during its throughout struggle to make New Pakistan. He said at this moment Pakistan is facing very crucial economic challenges for PTI Government due to worst performances of previous government but we soon be overcome all issues. He said without media support we cannot achieve our desired goals.

Mubasher Mir, President Karchi Editors Club and Resident Editor of Daily Pakistan Karachi pointed out various issues and suggested that online payment system should be introduced for passport fee to save time and embarrassment of applicants at queue at bank branches for depositing fees.

I also informed the Minister about the efforts and plan of Karachi Editors Club as Secretary General KEC to increase exports of Pakistan, remittances from expatriates Pakistanis to overcome current economic crises. The Minister also assured that he will be attending KEC meeting in his honor during his next visit to Karachi.

Rashid Siddiqui hosts dinner reception

Rashid Ahmed Siddiqui, President Karachi Business Forum, a Think Tank and Chairman of Afeef Group hosted a dinner reception in honour of Danish Khan, newly elected President and all his cabinet of Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) at his residence DHA, Khayaban-e-Ittehad during the reported week.
The dinner reception looked like a galaxy of businessmen and Industrialists who attended in a large number. Every known figure from business community attended this evening in the honour of newly elected office-bearers of KATI. Rashid Sidiqui thanked the guests who attended his dinner including bankers, civil servants and journalists.

JoAnne Wagner CG USA opens painting exhibition

Artscene Gallery hosted a Two-Man Show Landscape exhibition of paintings title “Fusion of Colours” by Artist Ajab Khan and Shahid Ali during the week. US Consul General in Karachi JoAnne Wagner was the chief guest at this opening ceremony. Impressionist art is characterized by relatively small thin, yet visible brush strokes, open composition, emphasis on accurate depiction of light in its changing qualities. Shahid Ali and Ajab Khan have been delighting collectors and art connoisseurs for the last twenty to twenty-five years. Shahid Ali and Ajab Khan are names well-known in the Artscene of Pakistan, their names in the Art world are well recognized as landscape impressionist painters.

Tariq Jamali opens indoor games at NBP Sports Complex

Tariq Jamali President National Bank of Pakistan opened Badminton and various other Indoor games at NBP Sports Complex Karachi in a colorful ceremony along with Pakistani legend Iqbal Qasim, Shaukat Mahmood Khattak, Shahid Iqbal Dar, Iqbal Wahid, and Syed Khurram Hussain during the reported week.
Tariq Jamali, in his address on the occasion, vowed that NBP will continue its role to promote national games and NBP Sports Complex will be developed further to facilitate sportsmen community. He informed that Sports Complex is already equipped with state of the art modern facilities, now they have added badminton courts and various other indoor games.
President NBP also played badminton for a while with Ayesha Akram, Palwasha, Danyal and Basheer for the encouragements of those players. He also participates in other various indoor games as token of appreciation.
Iqbal Qasim in his welcome note thanked Jamali to inaugurate these indoor games. Azmatullah conducted all the ceremony beautifully, Khalid Paracha recited Quranic versus at this prestigious ceremony.
The event was also attended by Ibn-e-Hasan, Anwar Farooqui, Afshan Shakil, Saeed Azad, Arshad Hussain, Abuzar Umrao, Zahid Shahab, Saleem Wali, Arif Bhopali and various others from NBP.
