2nd Food Excellence Awards 2019
Mega event of the city of this reported week was 2nd Food Excellence Awards 2019 (FEA) held at Governor House Karachi organized by The Financial Daily in closed cooperation with Karachi Editors Club (KEC). Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and Reema Ismail were the Chief Guests. Fizzah Shakil and Qindeel Jafri were Masters of Ceremony who conducted the entire programme beautifully. The 2nd Food Awards was held after a gap of 5 years as first awards were held in 2014. Now it has been planned to organize annually on October 16 in connection with World Food Day following the annual theme of World Food Day every year.
Governor Sindh Imran Ismail in his address appreciated the restart of these awards incentives; he also pledged his support for the next awards. He said Langar Khanas have been started under the Ehsaas Program so that no one sleeps hungry. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan wants the people to get their own roof, education and health facilities in the State of Madinah.
Imran Ismail said that Food Excellency Awards is a good effort under which people can be brought together under the Food diplomacy. Pakistani dishes are the best there is no foreigner who does not like our food, he added. Imran Isamil also distributed awards among the winners.
Mubasher Mir, President KEC, Manzar Naqvi Chairman FEA, Dr. Ikhtiar Baig Chairman Jury 2nd FEA and Senior Vice President FPCCI, Dr Sikandar Ali, Agha Masood Hussain, Shakeel Jafri Founder and Publisher of The Financial Daily addressed the ceremony and appreciated to start this initiative again now on regular basis and thanked the Governor Sindh Imran Ismail for the support and help in orgainising this awards after a gap of 5 years.
Ustad Mazhar Umrao Bundo Khan, Tarab Nafees, Saman Nafees, Farrukh Darbar along with his team also performed different items beautifully like Manqabat, songs and dance etc and the all performers were highly appreciated by the a large audience on this occasion.
SEMS arrangements remain under talk
Services, management, catering and all the event management of 2nd FEA by the SEMS at Governor House Karachi remained the most talking point among the audience and corporate elites of the city who attended this event largely due to providing marvelous delicious and tasty food including live pasta at the event and beautifully decorated ambiance according to theme of the food. This type of catering and event management is rarely seen in different corporate events. CEO of SEMS Muhammad Nadeem Yasin, GM of SEMS Junaid Dhedhi and other senior staff was present there to look after whole arrangements and services properly. They did really fantastic arrangements and serve quality, tasty and memorable food on this occasion.

SEMS won the award for the best catering and event management and it was also appreciated largely by the audience who clapped well while its CEO Nadeem Yasin was receiving this award from Governor Sindh Imran Ismail. Among others Foodies & Friends for best Social Media Platform, Matco Foods Ltd for best rice brand, Falak, Port Grand for best family destination for Food & Fun, New York Pizza for best Pizza Joint, Bonsai for best Pan Asian Restaurant.
Ms Faiza Bilal was awarded for best Emerging Chef, Beach Luxury Hotel for best Sea Food, Marriott Hotel Karachi, Pearl Continental Hotel, Akbari Nihari Restaurant for best in Shahana Style, Pakistan Oil Mills for best emerging cooking oil, Chotu Chai Wala for best Chai Dhaba, KFC, Bundo Khan for BBQ, United King for best baker, Avari for Dynasty Restaurant and Food Panda for the appreciation for serving the food industry awarded on this occasion.
