KEC hosts dinner in honour of BD editors' delegation

Karachi Editors Club (KEC) hosted a dinner in honour of 10-member Bangladeshi Editors delegation during the week on the request of Press Information Department Karachi. Sikander Ali Shah, Director General PID Karachi was facilitating the delegation. The delegation reached Karachi on March 19 and left for Islamabad on March 21 and will be going back to Dhaka today (March 26) from Karachi after visiting the Capital, Murree and Lahore. The delegation is visiting Pakistan for a week with courtesy of Pakistani High Commission in Bangladesh at Dhaka. The High Commission also arranged this type of journalist’s delegation last year.
On behalf of KEC, I as Secretary General, Mukhtar Aqil Senior Vice President, Mukhtar Butt and Agha Masood Hussain Members Executive Committee received and briefed the delegation. In this dinner meeting, bilateral and economic relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan were discussed and the participants of the meeting emphasised to improve relations between the two countries.
Mohammad Jafar Iqbal of Daily Sangram, Junayed Shishir of United News Bangladesh (UNB), Rumman Uddin Ahmad of Rising Asia and Sheikh A Sabur, Editor Weekly Qowm were prominent in the delegation.

FPCCI seminar on Pakistan Day and Role of Media

FPCCI Standing Committee on Public Relations organized a seminar in connection with Pakistan Day on the topic of “Pakistan Day and Role of Media” during the reported week. Renowned personality of Pakistan Senator Khushbakhat Shujat was the chief guest on this occasion while renowned journalist, Advisor GEO group and Chief Editor Monthly “Atraaf” Mehmood Sham, Columnists, Anchor and Chief Editor Monthly “Export Trend” Agha Masood Hussain, SVP, FPCCI Mazhar Ali Nasir and senior media person Zia-ul-Islam Zubairi spoke on this occasion on the subject as guests of honour while Chairman FPCCI Standing Committee on PR and host of the seminar Shujat Baig in his welcome address, welcomed the guests and briefed the about the efforts made by his Committee.
Senator Khushbakhat Shujat in her address as chief guest highlighted the preview of Pakistan Day. She said Pakistan Movement started from Independence War of 1857. She emphasised that educational institutions should be strengthen for a developed Pakistan. She lauded Ambreen Haseeb Amber for conducting the seminar nicely.
On this occasion FPCCI presented Shields to all speakers including Aqeel Jafri Managing Director Pirana Advertising to acknowledged his contribution in the field of Advertising while to acknowledge meritorious services in the field of media Gold Medals were presented to Mukhtar Aqil, Chief Editor Daily Farz Group and Senior Vice President Karachi Editors Club and Syed Ibne Hasan Vice President and Spokesman of National Bank of Pakistan.
Mohammad Dashti, Iranian Consular and Capt. S. Kamal A. Mahmoodi Honorary Consul General Fiji also graced the occasion by their presence.
Ambreen Haseeb Amber, a renowned poet and TV Anchor, conducted the ceremony in a nice and lively mood which was much appreciated by the jampacked hall on this occasion.

Renowned poetess and journalist Nasira Zubairi celebrated “International Poetry Day” by hosting a dinner at her home in close cooperation with her husband Shahab Zubairi, Group Chief Operating Officer of Aaj TV and Business Recorder, during the reported week. Renowned poets and intellectuals like Shakil Adilzada, Dr. Pirzada Qasim, Anwer Shaoor, Shahida Hasan, Naveed Ahmed, Majeed Akhtar, Sabir Zafar, Aqeel Abbas Jafri, Ajmal Siraj, Noorul Huda Shah, Khalid Moeen, Seema Ghazal, Rehana Roohi, Auj-e-Kamal, Imrana Maqsood, Shaista Mufti, Shaheena Pervaiz, Sabeen Saif, Ifat Naveed and various others attend the dinner and took part in the discussion on the occasion.

Cannes Lions 'See it - Be it'

The global career-acceleration program for women, ‘See It – Be It’ was held by Pakistan Advertising Association and Pakistan Advertisers Society, in collaboration with Synergy Dentsu during the reported week. The program ‘See It – Be It’ was launched by Cannes Lions. Being the world’s largest advertising festival began this program five years ago, to address the issue of the under-representation of women at Creative Leadership levels in the advertising industry.
The message of the program is simple, yet effective, when women can ‘See It’, they will be driven to ‘Be It’. The program in Pakistan was inspired by the performance of the Pakistani women, who at every level of academia outshine men.

Kim Dongi inaugurates paintings exhibition

MainFrame Gallery hosts a group show exhibition “Open-Ended” at Clifton. The show presents an eclectic mix of senior artists such as Chugtai, Saeed Akhtar as well as established and emerging artists. Kim Dongi Consul General Republic of Korea, who was the chief guest on the occasion, performed the opening ceremony by cutting the tape. Appreciating the MainFrame, he said that all the paintings are very nice and colourful.
Shahzad Saeed said that the mission of MainFrame is to bridge various artist communities and provide them greater exposure to new markets.
