Consumers Road Safety Conference 2019
Kokub Iqbal, Chairman Consumer Association of Pakistan (CAP) in collaboration with Traffic Police Karachi organized a “Consumers Road Safety Conference 2019” during the reported week at Marriott Hotel Karachi, topic was focused in this well informative and successful conference was “Traffic Rules for All”.
Dr Ahmed Shaikh, Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi (AIGP) was the chief guest on this occasion while Javed Ali Mahar DIG Traffic Karachi, Dr Seemi Jamali Executive Director Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Dr Farah Essa of Essa Laboratories, Dr Shahab Imam former Additional Collector of Customs, Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig SVP, FPCCI, Sarwar Nasrullah COO Minha Edible Oil Mills were among the guests of honour and speakers of this conference while Dr Samiullah Soomro SSP Traffic District Central Karachi was one of the guest speakers of this well informative event.
Speakers of the Conference highlighted importance of Traffic Laws and its benefits and emphasized to follow traffic them which are for our own safety, specially must be avoided cell phone during the driving which is main cause of sever accidents. They appreciated the initiatives of holding this conference on Road Safety by CAP.
Kokub Iqbal in his welcome address thanked the Police officials who supported the idea of this Conference and all associates supported in organization this Conference including Karachi Editors Club (KEC) who was Media Advisor of this Conference.
The Conference was also largely attended by Traffic police staff in addition to general public from all quarters.
Sadia Rashid honoured by Govt of Japan
The Government of Japan has conferred the prestigious decoration, The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon to Ms. Sadia Rashid, in recognition of her dedicated contributions for promoting mutual understanding and cultural relations between Japan and Pakistan.
The Commendation Awarding Ceremony was held during the reported week at the official residence of Toshikazu Isomura, Consul-General of Japan in Karachi.
Ms. Rashid made efforts to establish Pakistan Japan Culture Association (PJCA) in 2002. She contributed greatly to building cultural relations between Japan and Pakistan and promoting Japanese culture in Karachi as Vice President from 2002, and as President from 2009. Ms. Rashid played a major role in introducing Japanese language and culture through continuous management of Japanese language course under PJCA.
Founding Hamdard University and serving as Chancellor, Ms. Rashid conducted the academic and human exchange between Japan and Pakistan and took a leading place in spreading Eastern medicines to Pakistan. As President of Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, Ms. Rashid contributed to the development of cooperative relationship between Japan and Pakistan, especially in the area of disaster relief.
Consul-General Isomura, while speaking on the occasion, congratulated and appreciated Ms. Rashid’s substantial commitment for deepening the friendship between the two nations. Isomura also referred to the legacy of her beloved father, the former governor of Sindh Hakim Mohammad Said, who developed the warm relationship with the Japanese people and initially introduced Ms. Rashid to its culture.
Italian envoy visits AMTF
Anna Ruffino, an Italian Envoy at Karachi visited Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Trust (AMTF) during the reported week. She witnessed AMTF free of charge and unique service to the deserving people and appreciated the services being provided by AMTF. On this occasion Dr. Asim Qidwai, Founder & CEO, Ateeq Ur Rehman Executive Director, Rehan Yaseen Finance Secretary and Muhammad Haroon of AMTF received the honourable guest and briefed her about AMTF.
Beauty session on bridal make-up
To celebrate the current wedding season, Mona J, celebrity makeup stylist, hosted an exclusive media session here at Mona J Salon and Spa during the week.
The meet-up kick-started with a brief introduction followed by Mona J demonstrating bridal makeup tips and tricks on models including Esha, Humaira, Fareeha, Zara, Taliya, Beena, Mahi Baloch and Komal.
After transforming the models’ faces with flawless bridal makeup, Mona J created beautiful hair-dos for each. To complement the look, the attractive models wore bridal dresses by well-known designers Shireen Lakdawala and Mona Imran, while their jewellery was by Ornament Jewellers.
The highlight of the session was a fashion presentation by the models displaying their complete bridal look after which there was a question and answer session. The event concluded with guests mingling and taking pictures with models followed by scrumptious delights for all.
