LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau has served former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif legal notice to explain the alleged transfer of $4.9bn to Indian exchequer.

According to NAB sources, it has been found out through the Remittance Migration Book of World Bank. NAB has revealed that there was a marked increase in the foreign exchange reserves of India after the transfer.

Chairman NAB has ordered inquiry into the matter.
