Nation celebrating 71st Independence Day with renewed resolve today

ISLAMABAD: The nation will celebrate 71st Independence Day tomorrow with renewed resolve to work with the spirit of Pakistan Movement to make the country a true Islamic welfare state.
The day will dawn with thirty-one gun salute in the Federal Capital and twenty-one gun salute in the provincial headquarters. Prayers will be offered for security and progress of Pakistan and well-being of the people.
National flag will be hoisted at all important public and private buildings.
The main feature of the celebrations would be a national flag hoisting ceremony at Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad. President Mamnoon Hussain would be the chief guest on the occasion.
At 8:59 in the morning, sirens would be sounded and the moving traffic would come to a halt as mark of national solidarity.
President Mamnoon Hussain and caretaker Prime Minister retired Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk would unfurl the national flag and the participants would sing the national anthem together. The President would also address the ceremony on the auspicious occasion.
Similar flag hoisting ceremonies would also be held at provincial, divisional and district headquarters level throughout the country.
Public and private buildings as well as streets, bazars and markets have been profusely illuminated.
National flags, buntings, portraits of founding fathers, posters and banners are also seen everywhere as part of the celebration of Independence Day. Radio Pakistan has also prepared comprehensive programmes to celebrate the day.
Preparations for celebrating Independence Day have also been finalized across Balochistan including provincial metropolis, Quetta.
The day will dawn with twenty one gun salute in the provincial capital while special prayers will also be offered at all the Mosques for progress and prosperity of the country.
The major ceremony will be held in Balochistan Assembly at nine in the morning tomorrow during which the Caretaker Chief Minister Allauddin Marri will hoist the national flag. Besides, national Anthem will also be played. Another ceremony will also be held at the Residency of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Ziarat in which Caretaker Chief Minister will hoist the national flag.
An unprecedented spirit of patriotism is visible among all residents of the province as they are taking extra ordinary interest in the celebrations of Independence Day. National flag has been hoisted on almost all the private and public buildings.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the main function will be held at Civil Secretariat Peshawar. Caretaker Chief Minister Dost Muhammad Khan will hoist the national flag. Traders of Peshawar will take out a rally to mark the day.
Meanwhile, a car rally arranged in connection with the Independence Day started from Peshawar Monday. It will terminate in Haripur today.
The Independence Day will also be observed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir like other parts of the country tomorrow with national enthusiasm. The day will dawn with 21 gun salutes in the state capital Muzaffarabad.
Flag hoisting ceremonies, rallies, cultural shows and other events will be held at all Districts and Tehsil Headquarters. Main flag hoisting ceremony of the day will be held at Burhan Muzaffar Wani Shaheed Chowk in Muzaffarabad. AJK Prime Minister will hoist national flag.
Similarly, AJK Legislative Assembly Speaker will hoist national flag at a function at City Campus of Azad Jammu and Kashmir University Muzaffarabad. Chief Justice Azad Jammu and Kashmir will also hoist national flag at the premises of Supreme Court.
The AJK University has arranged a cultural event tonight in Muzaffarabad. The AJK government has also arranged Kashmir Business Expo in connection with Independence Day.
Bazaars, shops and buildings have been decorated with national flags, buntings, pictures of national heroes and lights. Youngsters have also decorated their motorbikes and cars with national flags.
Government and private buildings have been illuminated while fire-work was to be held at historical Naluchi Bridge Monday night.
The Independence Day of Pakistan will also be celebrated in Gilgit-Baltistan with traditional zeal and enthusiasm.
In Gilgit, Azadi parade will be held at Helipad ground tonight. ISPR said music Gala and illumination will be also be arranged.
There will be twenty-one gun salute in city park Gilgit at morning. Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman will be the chief guest on this occasion.
The main function of Independence Day will be held in Chinar Garden where Governor will hoist national Flag, lay wreath at Yadgar-e-Shahuda and offer Fatiha.
Flag hoisting ceremonies will also be held in Ghizer, Damer, Astore, Hunza Nagar and Baltistan division. – NNI
