ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) increased power tariff by Rs 1.56 on account of cost of fuel adjustment for the month of October 2019.
According to notification issued by NEPRA, consumer will pay an extra Rs14.5 billion on account of fuel adjustment in electricity bills of next month. Price hike will not be applicable on K-Electric and life line users.
Earlier, The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA), on behalf of the distribution companies (DISCOs), had filed a petition for tariff increase saying the actual fuel cost in October was higher than that charged to the consumers, and hence an increase of Rs1.73 per unit be allowed to be recovered from consumers next month. – NNI
