No shortage of talent in B’tan: Imran Ghichki

KARACHI: A delegation of Sports Journalists Association of Sindh (SJAS), led by its President Muhammad Asif Khan, called on the Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs, Balochistan Mir Imran Gichki. in Quetta. Balochistan’s Director General of Sports Durra Baloch, Assistant Director of Sports Asif Langho and the media coordinator of All Pakistan Chief Minister Balochistan Gold Cup, Mohammad Shah Dothani, was also present, says a Press release.
SJAS’ delegation, consisted of President Muhammad Asif Khan, Secretary Asghar Azeem, members of the Executive Committee, Obaid-e-Rehman and Jaffar Hussain.
Mir Imran Gichki, on the occasion, said that the Pakistan Cricket Board had always snubbed the talented players of Balochistan, which has made several cricketers anonymous, including fast bowlers like Habib Baloch. He added that the inclusion of only three Balochistan players in the current National T20 Cup was a continuation of injustices.
However, he hoped, the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, a former Test captain Ramiz Raja, would address the past inequities. Reminding Ramiz Raja of his visit to Quetta, with the winning team after the World Cup 92, Imran Gichki said Ramiz Raja knows that there is no shortage of talent in Balochistan. Gichki hoped that Ramiz would now give a chance to Balochistan players on the basis of ability.
The secretary sports further said that due to the sacrifices of the Pakistan forces, the police, law enforcement agencies and the people, Balochistan has become the cradle of peace and now it wants to be a sports centre as well.
On this occasion, the President of SJAS, Muhammad Asif Khan said that in the past, in Balochistan, International sports competitions had been held in a number of sports, including cricket. Every journalist involved in sports journalism, including SJAS, wants Balochistan’s athletes to exhibit their talents in international competitions.
The Secretary, Asghar Azeem apprised Mir Imran Gichki about SJAS efforts in the promotion of sports.
Secretary Sports Balochistan paid tribute to SJAS and said that SJAS’ performance and style of community service is an example for everyone.
