DOHA (Qatar): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday said that Pakistan and Qatar had a clear vision of the future with new opportunities and greater awareness to upgrade bilateral relations, particularly the economic cooperation.

As the prime minister was leaving Qatar after his first official two-day visit, he wrote on Twitter about the end of his “important” trip, which he took at the request of the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

“Today I’m going back to Pakistan after a very important trip to Qatar. “Thank you to the government and people of Qatar, especially my brother HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for the warm welcome and great hospitality,” the prime minister wrote on Twitter.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that there were two “important” things about his trip. The first was that Pakistan and Qatar had a clear vision of the future that offered new opportunities and paths in a world that is changing quickly.

Second, he said that both countries were becoming more aware of the need to improve their relationships by making economic cooperation the centre of their ties.

Also, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left here for Islamabad on Thursday after his two-day official trip to Qatar was over.

This was the prime minister’s first trip to the country since he took office in April 2022. He went at the request of the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

At the Doha airport, Qatar’s Minister of Transport Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti saw off the prime minister and his group.

Before he left, the prime minister went on Twitter to say that his “important trip” was over.

He thanked the Amir of Qatar, the government, and the people of Qatar for making him feel welcome and giving him “excellent” service.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif talked about the two “notable” things about his trip. He said that Pakistan and Qatar had a clear vision of the future that offered new opportunities and paths in a world that is changing quickly.

Because of how well the prime minister got along with Amir and other business and political leaders, the Qatar Investment Authority wants to put $3 billion into different parts of Pakistan.

During the meetings with Amir and the Qatari prime minister, both countries agreed to work together more in the agriculture, food, and energy sectors and to improve coordination between their institutions. The two countries’ top leaders also agreed to help Qatar invest in renewable energy, tourism, and the hospitality industry.

At a Pakistan-Qatar Trade and Investment Roundtable Conference, where top Qatari business and corporate leaders as well as Pakistan’s business community in Qatar were present, the prime minister gave a speech.
