The government has announced a further reduction in fuel prices, lowering the price of petrol by Rs10 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs13.06 per litre. This marks the fourth consecutive price cut over the past two months, driven by a decline in global oil prices.
The new rates will be effective from midnight, according to a statement from the Finance Division. The reduction follows a recent trend of decreasing fuel costs, with petrol prices having already dropped from Rs260.96 to Rs259.10 in the previous fortnight, and HSD prices reduced from Rs266.07 to Rs262.75.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) calculated these new consumer prices based on fluctuations in the international market, bringing relief to consumers amid ongoing economic challenges.
