Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of addressing national issues through parliamentary discussions, stressing that legislative measures are crucial for the public and national interest. During a dinner on Saturday, which was attended by parliamentarians from the PML-N and allied parties, the prime minister highlighted the sanctity of parliament as the supreme institution for resolving national concerns.
The event, held at the Prime Minister’s House, was attended by representatives from the PML-N, MQM, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), National Party, and PML-Zia. Shehbaz Sharif took the parliamentarians into confidence about proposed constitutional amendments and judicial reforms, noting that such measures were essential for ensuring the continuity of economic policies.
Referring to the Charter of Democracy, signed by Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto, the prime minister emphasized how it was a pivotal agreement aimed at upholding democratic principles and preventing unconstitutional actions in the future.
Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), also hosted a dinner for his party’s parliamentarians. The gathering was attended by Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and other PPP members from both the National Assembly and Senate.
