GTA 6 will feature more than 170 animal species across its vast open world, including Rare, Discoverable and Legendary creatures, according to Game Informer.

New details about Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated title reveal an extensive wildlife ecosystem designed to reflect the diverse environments of Leonida, the fictional state inspired by Florida.

The game’s wildlife will inhabit urban and rural areas as well as oceans, inland waterways, wetlands and swamp environments.

According to the report, GTA 6 will feature more than 60 types of birds and over 30 land mammals, alongside numerous reptiles and fish. Animals will include feral cats, monkeys, whales, turtles and jellyfish.

Rockstar vice president of dynamic art Michael Kane said the development team wanted to reflect Florida’s diverse ecosystem across Leonida’s different biomes, including cities, countryside, aquatic environments and wetlands.

Rare and Legendary Wildlife

Some creatures will reportedly be classified as Rare, Discoverable or Legendary, although Rockstar has not yet disclosed which animals will fall into each category.

The wildlife system will also incorporate detailed visual characteristics such as iridescence, bioluminescence and translucency. Different feather types and advanced hair and fur systems will affect the appearance of animals’ coats and pelts.

Players will be able to study animals and visit a zoo, introducing wildlife-focused activities alongside GTA 6’s traditional open-world gameplay.

The extensive animal ecosystem follows Rockstar’s strong emphasis on wildlife in Red Dead Redemption 2.

More Activities Across Leonida

The report also reveals a wide variety of recreational activities available to players.

These include base jumping, billiards, gym sessions, kayaking, mini golf, scuba diving, street racing, off-road racing, air boating and jet skiing.

Main characters Jason and Lucia will be able to participate in these activities when they are not carrying out robberies, with some activities reportedly contributing to the development of their relationship.

According to the supplied report, Rockstar Games is scheduled to release GTA 6 on November 19, 2026.

The Recording Academy will move ahead with its new Best Asian Pop Music Performance category at the 2027 Grammy Awards despite controversy surrounding the award, CEO Harvey Mason Jr. has confirmed.

Mason addressed the continuing debate in a statement, acknowledging that the Academy’s decision would not satisfy everyone but confirming that the category would remain part of the upcoming ceremony.

Introduced in June as one of five new awards for the 2027 Grammys, the category is intended to recognise artistic excellence in Asian pop performances originating from or widely recognised within Asian markets.

It encompasses genres including K-pop, J-pop and C-pop and requires meaningful use of one or more Asian languages.

Category Draws Criticism

The decision has faced criticism from some artists, including BTS, who announced in July that they would not submit music for consideration at the 2027 Grammys.

According to the supplied report, the group said it wanted its music to be heard and appreciated without being divided according to region or language.

The Recording Academy subsequently indicated that it was reconsidering the category following discussions with artists and music executives representing K-pop, J-pop, C-pop, India and other parts of the Asian music community.

In August, Mason said the Academy was listening to artists who felt the new category did not represent their music in the way they wanted.

Mason Defends New Award

Mason has maintained that the category was created to recognise the growth and diversity of Asian pop rather than isolate Asian performers from the Grammys’ broader awards.

He also clarified that artists competing in the Asian pop category would remain eligible to submit their work for the Grammys’ General Field awards, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

The Recording Academy has described Asian pop as a significant and sustained force in the global music industry, with the new award intended to recognise music emerging from major markets including K-pop, J-pop and Mandopop.

Despite the debate, the Best Asian Pop Music Performance category will now remain on the programme for the 69th Grammy Awards, scheduled for February 7, 2027.

KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s preparations to restrict access to Islamabad ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned October 4 march have disrupted goods transportation, with shipping containers piling up in Karachi as truckers avoid routes towards Punjab and the federal capital.

Transporters say they fear their vehicles could be seized and containers used to barricade roads leading into Islamabad, prompting many drivers to suspend journeys towards northern parts of the country.

“Right now, going toward Punjab is like committing suicide,” said 35-year-old driver Javid ur Rehman, who has stopped taking such trips.

“The police seize the vehicles and snatch the containers, and then we are left distressed,” he said.

Containers Line Roads Ahead of March

Steel shipping containers, some filled with sand and welded together, have been positioned along routes into Islamabad as authorities prepare for the PTI march demanding the release of jailed former prime minister Imran Khan.

The march was originally scheduled for September 27 before being postponed to October 4.

Rana Mohammad Aslam, president of the Karachi Goods Carrier Association, criticised the use of commercial containers for blocking protests.

“This is not the way to stop protests,” he said, adding that authorities began stopping vehicles around September 5.

According to transporters cited in the report, police requisitioned more than 2,000 vehicles during September ahead of the planned march. Many were allegedly carrying cargo and remained held for days with little or no compensation.

The reluctance of operators to send vehicles north has consequently contributed to a buildup of containers at Karachi, Pakistan’s main trade gateway.

Aslam said transportation had been affected on routes serving Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Peshawar and Attock. Some operators were reportedly refusing to travel beyond Gujranwala, while others were using alternative routes.

Demurrage Charges Mount

Transporters say the disruption is causing substantial financial losses.

According to Aslam, daily demurrage charges on a single seized container can reach between Rs30,000 and Rs40,000, in addition to losses caused by missed deliveries and idle vehicles.

Operators are also struggling with payments to drivers and fleet maintenance, while international shipping companies continue to demand payment regardless of the reasons behind delays, he said.

Aslam said discussions were underway to find a solution but warned that transporters could stage their own protest if their grievances remained unresolved.

For some drivers, the risk of seizure is already enough to stop operations.

Pervaiz Khan, 50, said his vehicle carrying chemicals remained parked in Karachi despite being ready for departure.

“Right now, my vehicle is loaded but I am not going,” he said. “We depart from Sindh, and the moment we enter Punjab, that’s when our troubles begin.”

Drivers stranded near Islamabad also expressed concern over the loss of income.

“If the roads open, our children’s livelihood will open up,” said driver Sagheer Ahmed. “If not, we will just keep standing.”

The disruption comes as goods transporters face rising operating costs and growing concerns over the financial consequences of vehicles and containers being requisitioned during political protests.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the association in Lahore, chaired by President Nabil Mahmood Tariq. Senior Vice President Haji Irfan Sultan, Vice President Mumtaz Ali Khan, Mirza Arshad Iqbal and other office-bearers attended the meeting.

The association called on the government to provide relief in accordance with its Charter of Demand and immediately release containers seized during protests and sit-ins.

Transporters also demanded compensation of Rs20,000 and Rs35,000 for those affected, while calling for an end to the practice of stopping and fining vehicles over sales tax invoices.

A reduction in diesel prices was also among the association’s key demands.

ISLAMABAD: A years-long property dispute in Mansehra has spilled into the national legal arena, with questions over lawyers’ academic credentials becoming a contentious issue ahead of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) elections.

At the centre of the controversy is Capt (retd) Safdar, husband of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who has launched a campaign against what he describes as fake degrees in the legal fraternity and demanded the replacement of Syed Amjad Ali Shah as a presidential candidate in the SCBA election.

The controversy has roots in a property dispute dating back several years between Safdar’s family and the family of former Supreme Court judge Ejaz Afzal Khan.

Property Dispute in Mansehra

The dispute concerns jointly held property in Dara village, Mansehra. Safdar’s father, Mohammad Ishaque, purchased a 10-kanal portion of a 164-kanal holding in 1997 and gifted it to his son two years later.

Safdar maintains that the land has remained in his family’s possession for around 25 years. Justice Ejaz’s family, which owns about 85 kanals of adjoining land, has alleged that Safdar occupied the valuable front portion of the jointly held property as well as adjoining communal land.

The legal dispute intensified in April 2021 when a petition filed in the Peshawar High Court accused Safdar and his brothers of entering the jointly owned land with armed companions, using bulldozers and constructing a boundary wall.

Safdar’s elder brother, former MNA Sajjad Awan, made counter-allegations, claiming guards associated with Justice Ejaz’s family opened fire while the wall was being constructed.

The matter subsequently involved the police, the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Law, the Mansehra District Bar Association and the Peshawar High Court.

A separate case concerning alleged illegal possession was also filed by Justice Ejaz’s family. According to the account provided, no final decree determining title or possession has yet been issued.

Amjad Shah’s Degree Comes Under Spotlight

The dispute has now become intertwined with the SCBA election because presidential candidate Syed Amjad Ali Shah comes from the same area and is considered close to Justice Ejaz.

Amjad has said Safdar previously approached him to represent him as a lawyer in the property dispute, an offer he declined. Safdar disputes this account and says he never met Amjad.

Questions concerning Amjad’s law degree were previously raised in 2022 when other lawyers challenged his credentials before the Peshawar High Court while he was contesting for membership of the Pakistan Bar Council.

According to records referred to in the supplied account, documents presented before the court indicated that Amjad had passed his LLB examination from Punjab University.

The controversy has resurfaced during his campaign for the SCBA presidency, with Safdar taking up the issue and demanding that Amjad be replaced as the candidate.

Attempts at Settlement

Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, who also belongs to the Independent Group, has attempted to facilitate a settlement. Several jirgas have reportedly been held, including efforts involving the National Assembly speaker and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Safdar, however, has maintained his position and demanded a change in the Independent Group’s presidential candidate.

Senior lawyer Ahsan Bhoon, another prominent member of the Independent Group and supporter of Amjad, has also faced allegations from Safdar concerning his academic credentials.

Bhoon has denied the allegations and served Safdar with a defamation notice seeking Rs5 billion in damages.

According to the notice cited in the supplied report, Bhoon’s LLB degree from Punjab University, obtained in 1989, was marked “verified” by the university’s controller of examinations in January during a Pakistan Bar Council scrutiny process.

The dispute has consequently expanded beyond the original Mansehra property litigation, bringing personal allegations, questions over lawyers’ credentials and internal legal politics into focus ahead of the SCBA election.

ISLAMABAD: Negotiations between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) began on Friday at the National Assembly Speaker’s chamber, days before the Imran Khan-founded party’s planned long march towards Islamabad on October 4.

The six-member opposition delegation comprises PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Asad Qaiser, Salman Akram Raja, Amir Dogar and Haleem Adil Sheikh.

The government delegation includes Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, PPP Senator Sherry Rehman and other representatives.

During the meeting, Naqvi briefed participants on the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

PTI Reconstitutes Delegation

PTI reconstituted its delegation after Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Ayin-e-Pakistan (TTAP) chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai declined to attend the meeting at the NA Speaker’s chamber.

According to sources, Achakzai said he would participate if the negotiations were held at a neutral venue. PTI leadership, however, did not accept the demand and subsequently formed a new delegation for the talks.

Barrister Gohar had earlier said PTI’s political and core committees had approved the names of the six-member opposition delegation.

The talks follow PTI’s acceptance of the government’s dialogue offer ahead of the October 4 march. Gohar said the government’s message regarding the meeting was received on Wednesday and accepted following consultations among opposition leaders.

PTI had earlier postponed its planned march from September 27 to October 4. The party says the protest is intended to seek the release of its jailed founder Imran Khan and what it describes as the restoration of constitutional supremacy.

‘Long Marches Not a Solution’

Speaking to reporters at Parliament House before the meeting, Rana Sanaullah urged PTI to withdraw its long march call and pursue its concerns through dialogue.

“Long marches and disorder are not a solution to any problem,” Sanaullah said, adding that matters pending before courts would have to be decided through the judicial process.

He said political issues that could be resolved through negotiations should be discussed at the table and questioned objections regarding the venue of the talks.

“You can sit by the roadside under a tree and talk, but you cannot meet at the Prime Minister’s Office,” he remarked, arguing that such positions could undermine political communication and tolerance.

Referring to Imran Khan, Sanaullah said the incarcerated former prime minister had been shifted to a hospital and examined by a panel of senior doctors.

He added that the government would comply with any further clear directions issued by the courts regarding the matter.

ISLAMABAD: The federal government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are set to hold talks on Friday as contacts between the two sides intensify amid political and security tensions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and PTI’s planned October 4 march towards Islamabad.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan confirmed that he had received a message from the government inviting the opposition for talks. The meeting is scheduled for 12 noon at the office of National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.

The talks follow consultations within both the government and opposition, with the PTI agreeing to engage the federal government following meetings of its political and core committees.

A joint government and Pakistan Peoples Party delegation was also formed to engage PTI. The government side includes Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Rana Sanaullah and Amir Muqam, while Sherry Rehman, Naveed Qamar and Ejaz Jakhrani are representing the PPP.

The dialogue comes just two days before PTI’s planned October 4 march on Islamabad. The protest had originally been scheduled for September 27 before being postponed.

Meanwhile, differences have emerged between PTI and the Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan (TTAP) leadership over the handling and postponement of the September 27 march.

According to sources cited by ARY News, TTAP leaders said they were neither consulted about the postponement nor adequately informed about preparations for the march. They also claimed that PTI had not established coordination, administrative or finance committees for the protest.

The sources further claimed that TTAP had provided PTI with a comprehensive agenda for the march but was not consulted before the protest was shifted to October 4.

Friday’s talks take place against a broader debate over the security and political situation in KP. The ruling coalition has opted to pursue dialogue with the opposition rather than immediately resorting to measures such as governor’s rule in the province.

41-year-old hints he will later reveal reasons behind his sudden national-team departure

Cristiano Ronaldo’s international future has been thrown into uncertainty after the Portugal superstar left the national team camp following coach Jorge Jesus’s decision not to start him against Denmark.

The 41-year-old announced his departure late Wednesday, shortly after Jesus confirmed at a press conference that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner would be omitted from the starting line-up for a second successive match.

Ronaldo had been scheduled to train with his teammates at Copenhagen’s Parken Stadium ahead of Thursday’s UEFA Nations League encounter but instead left the squad.

“After the press conference of the national team coach, and following a conversation with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation, I have made the decision to leave the role of the national team,” Ronaldo wrote on Instagram.

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United forward had remained on the bench throughout Portugal’s 2-1 victory over Norway on Sunday. He had previously captained Portugal in their 1-0 home win against Wales.

While squad rotation is common in such fixtures, Ronaldo suggested there was more behind his decision to leave.

“In due time, I will tell the Portuguese people the truth about the reasons that motivated my departure from the national team, to which I have always dedicated myself,” he said.

“Now is time to wish Portugal and all my teammates the very best for the future, without exception.”

According to Spanish sports newspaper Marca, Jesus and Portuguese Football Federation president Pedro Proenca attempted to persuade Ronaldo to remain with the squad before he departed Copenhagen on his private jet.

Jesus Denies Rift

Before Ronaldo’s departure, Jesus insisted there was no dispute between himself and the Portuguese captain, although he acknowledged Ronaldo had been disappointed at not playing against Norway.

“There was no incident whatsoever,” Jesus said.

The coach said Ronaldo had been informed before the Norway match that he would not start but could potentially be introduced as a substitute.

“Afterwards, as coach, I decided not to bring him on. It’s nothing to make a fuss about,” Jesus said.

Jesus had also indicated that Goncalo Ramos was expected to start against Denmark.

“If everything goes according to plan, it will be Goncalo who plays,” he said.

Following Ronaldo’s departure, the Portuguese federation said preparations would continue with the remaining 24 players and that the squad remained focused on its upcoming fixtures.

Questions Over Ronaldo’s International Future

Ronaldo recently said the current season would “probably” be his final year in football, adding further uncertainty over whether his departure could mark the end of his international career.

He is Portugal’s all-time leading scorer and most-capped player, with 146 goals in 234 appearances.

Ronaldo made his senior international debut in 2003 and went on to captain Portugal to the Euro 2016 title. He also featured in the side that reached the 2006 World Cup semi-finals and has represented his country for more than two decades.

KARACHI: The mother of 18-month-old Aizal, who died last month after suffering injuries allegedly linked to sexual assault, has accused YouTuber Rajab Butt of falsely claiming that he provided financial assistance to her family.

Speaking during a recent interview, Aizal’s mother was asked about various social media personalities, including TikTokers and YouTubers, who visited the family after the child’s case drew widespread public attention.

Responding to a question about Rajab Butt, she rejected reports that the YouTuber had supported the family away from the cameras.

“I heard him saying somewhere that he had helped us off camera,” she said, maintaining that she had received no financial assistance from him.

She alleged that Butt had visited the family primarily to record content for his vlog.

“He did not give me even a single rupee. He came for his vlog, recorded it and left,” she claimed.

However, Aizal’s mother said she would publicly acknowledge and appreciate Butt if he helped the family secure a home in the future.

“If he helps us get a flat, I will come back and appreciate him and tell everyone about it,” she said.

Her comments came nearly a week after Butt visited Aizal’s family in Karachi and publicly called for justice for the child.

The claims regarding the purpose of Butt’s visit and whether he provided any assistance represent Aizal’s mother’s account; the supplied material does not include a response from Butt to her latest allegations.
