KARACHI: Secretary for Department of Empowerment of persons with Disabilities, Tuaha Farooqui, who was Chief Guest on the occasion, inaugurated the Deaf Madrasah in Karachi Wednesday. A large number of people belonging to different walks of life attended the inauguration ceremony.
Tuaha Farooqii lauded the establishment of the Deaf Madrasah and said that it will promote Islamic teachings among the Deaf.
Chairman Pakistan Association of the Deaf, Asif Amin Farooqui, said that in continuity of Islamic Education we have prepared Islamic Books like “Askar-e-Namaz”, “Islami Islahaat”, “Six Kalma” and working on “Qurani Ayat” in Sign Language.
In December 2022 one of our students performed “Surah-e-Ikhlas” in sign language at Chief Minister House.
Asif Amin Farooqui further said that the Madrasah is the first of its kind because deaf children will get Islamic and Arabi Education in Sign Language by the qualified Islamic scholar having strong command on Sign Language. Under this project we are also working on Arabic and Urdu Grammar in Sign Language.
Deaf Madrasah is the project of Pakistan Association of the Deaf.
