Dr Baig shares good news of withdrawal of reciprocal tariff

KARACHI: Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig Member National Assembly of Pakistan shared the good news of the successful negotiation of Pakistani delegation in Washington led by Secretary Commerce. US Govt. in principally agreed to exempt Pakistan from 29% reciprocal tariff imposed by Trump administration following a reconciliation agreement between the two countries, says a Press release.
Dr. Baig stated that trade talks in Washington marks a pivotal role in Pakistan economic diplomacy and would boost our exports. He also revealed that Pakistan will import additional $2 billion worth of raw cotton and soya bean from USA as part of the trade agreement. Dr. Baig said that bilateral relation between US & Pakistan are improving particularly after high level meeting between Field Marshal Gen. Asim Muneer & US President Donald Trump.
Dr. Baig awarded honorary shield from Pakistani-American community in recognition of his efforts to enhance Pakistan’s global trade at a reception attended by Muhammad Aftab Chaudhary Consul General of Pakistan to Houston, Judge Sonia Rash of Fort Bend County, former Olympian Islahuddin, the event was organized by Muhammad Saeed Shaikh (HKSCA), Siraj Nursi, Zafar Iqbal (PAGH) & Riaz Hussain Kakakhel.
Dr. Baig also shared detail of his meetings with Parliamentarian for Global Action (PGA) & UN Assembly on ICC in New York. The evening concluded with a note of optimism from the diaspora.
