KHAIRPUR: Students of Institute of International Relations and Peace Studies under the Kashmir Solidarity and Discussion Forum of Institute Observe Kashmir Solidarity Day at the New Academic Block of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur Mir’s with great enthusiasm and spirit.
The event witnessed the huge participation by students who briefed through documentary and other tools of technology to highlight the grave situation in the Indian occupied valley of Kashmir as a subject of Indian Hindutuva led Modi government attrocities & violation of UN Charter & its resolution for the just solution of the long standing conflict between India & Pakistan.
The event was presided over by Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Dr. Liaquat Ali Chandio and Professor Dr Taj MuhammadLashari, Former Dean Faculty of Social Sciences was the keynote speaker. The program commenced with a welcome address by newly appointed Director In-Charge, Sarfaraz Ali Korejo, who warmly welcomed the esteemed guests. He pledged to organise an International conference on Kashmir under the umbrella of Worthy Vice Chancellor Meritorious Professor Dr Yousif Khushk, who has been an iconic literary figure in portaying Kashmir at national & international forums.
Mr. Korejo acknowledged the audience about very commendable efforts made by the students of Institute who are also dynamic members of this pertaining forum. He was opined that more such forums of academic research & debate will be established at Institute as a mandatory part of honor and trust envisoned by Worthy Vice Chancellor to him as Incharge Director of Institute.
Professor Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari in his address expressed his views on the forcible occupation of Kashmir by India and highlighted the ongoing struggles and human rights violations faced by the Kashmiri people. Professor Dr. Liaqat Ali Chandio praised the efforts of the students for organizing the event and shared his thoughts on the importance of observing Kashmir Solidarity Day to raise awareness and show support for the oppressed people of Kashmir. He offered his full support to the students and faculty members for organising such purposeful programmes within University as a best fitting persuade of the vision by the leadership of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur Mir’s.
The event concluded with Mr. Ishrat Ali Meerani delivering concluding remarks, in which he expressed grief and solidarity with the people of Occupied Kashmir and emphasized the need for continued advocacy for their rights. Senior Faculty Member Professor Dr Agha Nadia, Dr Ali Nawaz Soomro, Ms. Shaherbano Soomro ,students, staffers & emerging community leaders actively participated . The event concluded with a one minute silence in solidarity with Kashmiris for bearing unstoppable wave of torture and trauma by Indian government followed by a group photo.
