Terrorist Israel has utterly destroyed the lives of oppressed Palestinian Muslims. As the year 2024 approaches its end and December last week begins, the world has witnessed numerous changes this year. A year marked by upheaval and chaos. However, if there is one place where no change has occurred it is in the lives of the oppressed Palestinians, where daily killings, bombings and explosions have become routine. These atrocities expose the indifference of global human rights advocates such as the United States, the UK, Germany and France.
While 2024 has been a year of remarkable progress in artificial intelligence and modernization and the world has embraced new technologies and strategies, it is tragic that one region remains a desolate battlefield. The lives of elderly, children and women in Palestine have been turned into stories of brutality.
In October during a ceremony in Islamabad celebrating China’s National Day, I met a Palestinian diplomat. This encounter left me deeply moved by the resilience and unwavering faith of these people, who are acutely aware of the transient nature of this world. I have always thought there should be some form of support for these brave Palestinians. Today, as I write, my heart weeps and my mind are consumed with grief. What can one even say about these unfortunate Muslims, whose plight has been ignored by the international community?
There are 57 Islamic countries on the world map and an organization supposedly representing them, the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation). Yet, no Islamic nation has raised its voice for the oppressed Palestinian Muslims, nor has the OIC played any significant role. Since October 2023, approximately 2 million Gaza residents have become homeless, constituting 85% of the population. The death toll is incalculable due to media inaccessibility, making it impossible to assess the full extent of damage and casualties. It is estimated that over 100,000 lives have been lost.
This conflict is no longer just between Palestine and Israel it has engulfed Iran and other Arab nations. Millions of Palestinians have historically sought refuge in Egypt and Jordan but in this current conflict, these countries have refused to accept them. Gaza is now a city of ruins, devoid of life. Terrorist Israel has targeted hospitals, schools and every corner of the city, leaving no place safe.
Meanwhile, the apathy of Arab nations has enabled Israel to become a dominant power in the region. Some Arab states have normalized relations with Israel, focusing on trade and diplomacy rather than the plight of Palestinians. This indifference underscores the ineffectiveness of the OIC, an organization established in September 1969 after parts of Al-Aqsa Mosque were set on fire. Today, it exists merely as a lifeless entity.
Countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE have completely distanced themselves from Palestinian issues, prioritizing their economic and political ties with Israel. Between 2023 and 2024, countless Palestinian families have been uprooted. Homes that once housed families living in dignity are now destroyed, leaving behind silence and despair.
During this time, only China and South Africa have openly supported Palestine, presenting resolutions to awaken the global conscience. As the chilling winds December sweep through, I cannot help but recall the tents of Palestinian refugees-lacking protection from the cold, heat, or any form of relief. Sadly, I see no resolution to this crisis in the near future. The issue remains unresolved, and the inaction of global powers speaks volumes about their priorities.
The question arises: why is the world blind to Israel’s terrorism? Whenever a terrorist incident occurs elsewhere, the U.S and its allies are quick to react and assign blame. Yet, they remain silent on Israel’s actions in Palestine. The international laws being flagrantly violated in Palestine seem meaningless to the global community, which watches this bloody spectacle in silence.
Today, the oppressed Palestinians desperately need support, but this world values economic and strategic interests above humanity. Perhaps this is why Palestinians remain defenseless, awaiting a modern-day Salahuddin Ayubi. But in this era, I see no hope, no solution, only despair and uncertainty.
The terrorist policies of Israel have engulfed the entire region, threatening global peace. No one questions Israel’s actions or its war-driven agenda, which has put the world’s stability at risk.
