11th Convocation of Bahria University Health Sciences Campus held in Karachi

KARACHI: The 11th Convocation Ceremony of Bahria University Health Sciences Campus (BUHSC) Karachi was held on 26th April, 2025 at the Ibn-e-Sina Auditorium. The event was conducted in two sessions: the morning session, presided over by Chief Guest Professor Dr. Mohammad Shoaib Shafi, President College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) and afternoon session by Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC), says a Press release.
The ceremony was attended by officials from Pakistan Navy, the Registrar of Bahria University, and distinguished members of the health sciences and medical and allied health community. Director General Bahria University Health Sciences Campus, Vice Admiral (R) Ather Mukhtar HI(M), delivered a warm welcome address, expressing immense pride in the institution and extending heartfelt congratulations to the graduates for their unwavering commitment, dedication, and hard work in reaching this significant milestone. He further advised students to practice integrity, compassion, collaboration and strive for innovation to meet the health challenges of our time.
Following the welcome address in both sessions, degrees were conferred by the respective Chief Guests, after which the Oath Taking Ceremony was conducted by Major General (Retd) Shehla M. Baqai HI(M), Dean Health Sciences and Principal Bahria University Medical College. Certificates of merit and medals were awarded to outstanding students, recognizing their academic excellence. In total, 285 graduates received degrees across various disciplines, including MPhil, MBBS, BDS, BS Nursing, Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), and BS Medical Lab Technology (MLT).
In his address to the morning session, Chief Guest Professor Dr. Mohammad Shoaib Shafi, President College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) warmly congratulated all graduates, especially gold and silver medalists. He also appreciated their hard work, along with your parents’ support, that brought them this proud moment. Furthermore, he emphasized to the students to remain resilient and uphold integrity, which are essential attributes of this noble profession.
During the afternoon session, the Chief Guest, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, warmly congratulated the graduates, expressing his unwavering confidence in their potential to become capable and visionary leaders of tomorrow. He shared his delight at attending the 11th Convocation Ceremony, commending the impeccable organization and dignified conduct of the event. With heartfelt appreciation, he recognized the dedication and sacrifices made by the graduates throughout their academic pursuits and offered his sincere prayers for their continued success and prosperity in all future endeavors.
Concluding the ceremony, Director General Bahria University Health Sciences Campus, Vice Admiral (Retd) Ather Mukhtar HI(M), presented convocation souvenir to Chief Guests Professor Dr. Mohammad Shoaib Shafi, President College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan for first session and Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman Higher Education Commission for second session as a token of appreciation for honouring the occasion with their presence.
