2 public sector medical universities sign MoU

KARACHI: Two public sector medical universities, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) and Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an international non-profit organization Association of Healthcare Professionals Globally (AHPG), for the education and training of the workforce working in the healthcare sector. After short and long-term training at national and international level, the need of medical fields of different countries will be fulfilled, says a Press release.
The signing ceremony of the agreement was held yesterday at the local five-star hotel in Karachi, in which Dr. Ashar Afaq, Registrar on behalf of Dow University and Azam Khan, Registrar on behalf of JSMU, signed, while Dr. Jamilur Rehman,represented the Association of Healthcare Professionals Globally.
Dow University of Health Sciences Vice Chancellor Professor Muhammad Saeed Quraishy and Jinnah Sindh Medical University Professor Dr. Amjad Siraj Memon,Indus Hospital CEO Dr. Abdul Bari, Dr. Mazhar Sheikh, Dr. Tipu Sultan, Dr. Akhtar Chughtai and other doctors were also present. Prof. Muhammad Saeed Quraishy expressed his thoughts on this occasion and said that there is a severe shortage of human resources in the field of doctors and allied healthcare across the world, including Pakistan, for which the need for some means was felt for a long time.
Association of Health Professionals Globally realized this need and now through this platform doctors and allied health professionals can find job opportunities abroad, Dow University produces a large number of professionals in the field of allied health sciences including MBBS and BDS who are renowned worldwide.
Prof. Dr. Amjad Siraj Memon said that there are many vacancies in nursing department in other countries like Ireland if we skill and train our allied health sector people then we can meet the need of the countries of the world.
Dr. Jamilur Rahman, Dr. Mazhar Sheikh and others, founders of Association of Healthcare Professionals Globally, said that there is a big change in doctors and healthcare in Pakistan. Of is a registered organization from America that will train and mentor doctors and allied health care specialists.
A large number of members of this organization consist of former students of medical educational institutions of Pakistan including Dow. There is a shortage healthcare professionals in the world, for which Professionals Global has been founded on the platform of the Associations with the main objective of providing a form to O .T Technicians, Dental Technicians, Radiologists, Nurses, X-ray other Technicians. Training should be given, but for service many times around the world, Pakistan can perform many services to perform many services where there are employment opportunities.
