KARACHI: Virtual University of Pakistan (VUP) held its 11th convocation for its students at a local hotel, here Thursday, says a Press release.
As many as 423 VU graduates were conferred degrees at the Convocation including 239 bachelors, 156 Masters and 28 MS/M.Phil degrees. To acknowledge the outstanding academic performance of students in various disciplines, gold medals and merit certificates were awarded to brilliant graduates.
Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui graced the occasion as chief guest and speaking at the occasion he congratulated the graduating students and their parents on their success and stated that award of degree is the first step towards lifelong learning. He further appreciated the role of Virtual University of Pakistan for imparting quality education and its contribution in strengthening human resource across the country.
Earlier in his welcome address, Rector VUP Naeem Tariq welcomed chief guest and thanked all participants for gracing the auspicious occasion with their presence. He also congratulated students, their parents, and wished them a prosperous future. He highlighted achievements of Virtual University and said that VUP’s graduates are serving in different top-notch institutions of the country and abroad.
Chief Guest along with Rector VUP distributed medals and awards among high achievers. Audience including proud parents, graduating students, members of faculty, eminent personalities from academia, corporate and public sector attended the event.
