Tomorrow is the start of the 9th National Archery Championship.

KARACHI: The 9th National Archery Championship will start from Thursday at the KMC Sports Complex, in which apart from the departmental teams of Pakistan, the teams of the provinces will also participate.
Syed Ejaz Ali, the organizing secretary of the event, told a crowded Press conference at the Karachi Press Club. Sindh Archery Association Chairman Imtiaz Sheikh and Pakistan Archery Federation Secretary Zulfiqar Butt were also present at the Press conference.
Syed Ijaz Ali said that the 9th National Archery Championship will be organized and managed by the Archery Association and will be played from December 15 to 18, 2022.
The opening ceremony will be held on Thursday (tomorrow|) at 3 pm, while the closing ceremony will be held on Sunday, December 18. The Sindh Archery Association has made full preparations to hold the event in a befitting manner.
The Pakistan Olympic Association and Pakistan Archery Federation President General (Retd) Arif Hasan also have patronage for the championship, while Sindh Olympic Association also supports the Archery Association for the holding of the event. Pakistan Archery Federation has given this event to Sindh Archery Association to organize the event which Sindh Archery Association has taken as a challenge.
The organizers said that we want to promote Archery in Sindh and Karachi. In the last five years, archery has emerged as the most popular sport, in schools, colleges, universities, the game of archery has broken all the records of popularity and now regular clubs have also been formed.
The Chairman of Sindh Archery Association Imtiaz Sheikh said that thanks to the tireless work and day and night efforts of Sindh Archery Association, now in Sindh not only at the senior level but also at the junior level Archery is becoming popular. There are talented boys and girls archers who are in no way inferior to other teams in terms of their abilities. This is the reason why two Sindh teams Sindh Green and Sindh White are participating in the 9th National Archery Championship; both teams have male and female archers with excellent skills and can be expected to play well.
Teams from defending champions Pakistan WAPDA, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Police, Punjab, Sindh and other provinces are participating in the event. The championship will be played on 70 meters. This is the first national archery championship of its kind in Karachi.
Prominent and expert archers of Pakistan will participate with a score of 600 plus which is considered the best while the modern scoring system will be used.
Earlier the 7th National Archery Championship has also been organized in Karachi. The Secretary of Pakistan Archery Federation, Zulfikar Butt, said that in this National Championship, there will be players with international archery experience as well as international coaches, so it can be hoped that its quality will be better than before.
