KARACHI: Pak-Qatar Family Takaful Head Office in Business Arcade building at Karachi is stated to have become the breeding ground for coronavirus as the COVID-19 positive cases have reach to many including their Chief Executive Officer Azeem Pirani and Chief Operating Officer is sent to quarantine after COVID-19 suspect while Imran Niazi and many others are under hospitalization.
The new head of Human Resources, Kamran Ali Khan, who is looking after the Training earlier but now holding the whole sole responsibility of HR is allegedly unable to formulate any policies for the PQTL employees during these critical days instead having the advisory received from Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan.
He seemed frightened when The Financial Daily reporting team sent him the queries Thursday but he did not give satisfactorily answers and Company’s HR Policies confidently hide up facts and the numbers of affectees.
PQTL branches staff is afraid to visit the head office but they were threatened by Head of Individual Life and Marketing Waqas Durrani for Sales reporting informed by their Sales Representative not to mention his name.
Former Chief Financial Officer and present Director Finance Muhammed Kamran Saleem is also contacted by The Financial Daily team for their version but he refuses to give his version on that issue. SECP Communication Head, Sajid Gondal is also taken in the loop as their regulator to know about their role and SOP issued for Takaful Companies during COVID-19, who informed us about the advisory note and said guidelines were issued by SECP in which they have been clearly instructed that it is better to work from home and not to take any risk of employees health but it depends on the Company’s Policy. He however advised the TFD team to take this issue to Mayor Karachi because it’s purely the law and order issue.
