RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar JavedBajwa has emphasised the need for ensuring the highest levels of readiness to respond effectively to the emerging threats, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday.
The Chief of Army Staff said this while interacting with officers and jawans during his visit to Skardu and Gilgit. The COAS appreciated their high morale and operational readiness under challenging environment and harsh weather conditions. He emphasised to ensure the highest levels of readiness for effectively responding to emerging threats.
According to the ISPR, the Army Chief was briefed on the latest situation and operational preparedness of FCNA troops deployed along the Line of Control (LOC).
Later, the Chief of Army Staff visited Gilgit and inaugurated a state-of-the-art Software Technology Park, an initiative of the Special Communication Organisation. The facility will help create an environment for research and innovation in the fields of IT and defence communication by honing and harnessing the skills of the youth. It will serve as a trigger for development of the cyber industry in the area.
Acknowledging efforts of the Special Communication Organisation, the COAS said that establishment of IT clusters in remote areas will have a great effect by encouraging innovation and digitisation.
Earlier, on arrival at Skardu, the COAS was received by Commander Rawalpindi Corps Lieutenant General Azhar Abbas. – TLTP
