KARACHI: General Secretary Pakistan Heroes Welfare Organization Sibtain Naqvi observed the 37th death anniversary of Waheed Murad, a chocolate hero of the subcontinent at a local hotel, the other day.
On the occasion, Hamid Khan Ghauri, a well-known TV artist and compere and senior vice president of the organization inaugurated the proceedings of the event and invited Abdul Salam to recite from the Holy Quran.
Sibtain Naqvi, in his welcome address, said, “We are celebrating the 37th death anniversary of the great actor Waheed Murad, and with this anniversary. It is the Diamond Jubilee anniversary gathering of three heroes in our 37 years, which is a great honor for us.” He said, he is very thankful to Allah Almighty for this honor and thankful to all the great personalities who have contributed to the success of these gatherings during these 37 years.
Senior journalist and president of the event Agha Masood Hussain in his comprehensive speech said that Waheed Murad was the only actor of the sub-continent whose every style is still ruling in the hearts of people from all walks of life. He said that participation and appreciation of a large number of fans on the anniversary of Waheed Murad was commendable.
Dr. Mahfooz Yar Khan while paying tribute to the efforts of Sabtain Naqvi on the occasion of the death anniversary of Waheed Murad and other heroes said that such sincere fans always keep their heroes alive.
President KEC Mubashir Mir said Waheed Murad was such a unique actor that his charm of acting has not been broken to-date and his fans still pay tribute to his artistic life. “We believe that Waheed Murad’s fans, it is also a great honor for him to meet the them,” he added.
General Secretary KEC Manzar Naqvi said that it is a matter of pride for us that Sibtain Naqvi’s work on national heroes, especially on Waheed Murad that highlights his artistic status.
Syed Ibn Hassan Naqvi, president of the organization, said that the role of Sibtain Naqvi in keeping Waheed Murad and other heroes alive is unforgettable.
Naeem-ud-Din Abbasi, Central Leader of Jewelers Association and Chairman of the organization, said that he is the only versatile hero who has spent his entire life as a film star. Dil Meera Dharkan Teri, Anjuman, Mastana Mahi, Jab Jab Phool Khiley, Daulat Aur Dunya, Phool Meera Gulshan films are ruling our hearts till today.
Rehan Ahmad Farooqi, editor of a local magazine, said that Waheed Murad is still ruling our hearts after 37 years in the same way that he ruled the film industry in the heyday of film life. Even if we want to forget him, we cannot forget him. Chairman Roshad Ali elaborated on the living conditions of Waheed Murad and said that Waheed Murad’s art was important in every field.
General Secretary Abdul Salam said that Waheed Murad has left countless impressions on the film industry from ‘Aulad’ film to ‘Hero’ film which fans will not forget for centuries.
On behalf of Film Lovers garlanded Syed Ibn Hassan Naqvi, Manzar Naqvi and Mubasher Mir and were presented with Ajrak.
