In accordance to the principles and philosophy of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said, Hamdard Pakistan serves people with dedication and the spirit of service to the nation. Founder of Hamdard Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said started Hamdard’s journey with a two-room Matab (clinic) and under his leadership and vision, Hamdard Pakistan became the largest traditional pharmaceutical company in the country. Thousands of patients benefit daily from Hamdard’s countrywide network of Matabs and receive free checkup and treatments prescribed by trained and qualified Hakims. Shaheed Hakim Mohammad Said himself made his mission to check patients daily free of cost. During his lifetime, he examined more than five million patients. Along with that Hakim Mohammed Said established a medical college later Hamdard University Faculty of Eastern Medicine where thousands of physicians, medical scientists and technicians are trained to serve the country and the nation. Thanks to the collective efforts of all of them, eastern medicine is at new heights in the country.
Hamdard Pakistan inaugurated the country’s first digital Hamdard Matab in the first week of January to further expand its medical facilities network in the country. In the inauguration ceremony of the first Matab established in Nazimabad area of Karachi, the Chief Mutawallia of Hamdard Pakistan, Ms. Sadia Rashid graced the occasion as chief guest. Mrs. Sadia Rashid formally inaugurated the Matab by cutting the ribbon. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Fatema Munir Ahmed, Chief Operating Officer Dr. Arshad Saleem along with Directors and Deputy Directors of Hamdard Pakistan also attended the inauguration ceremony.
Hamdard Matab team welcomed Chief Mutawallia Mrs. Sadia Rashid and briefed her about Matab’s operations and clinical procedures.
The first-ever digital matab will have computerized records of patients’ diagnoses, prescriptions and their health follow-up. In addition, there will be a number of facilities available for patients, including online appointments, ordering medicines online, selection of Tabibs, safe environment, easy access to information, strict implementation of Covid-19’s SOPs, trained staff and Hakims to serve patients with full attention, care and dedication. Hamdard has planned additional facilities for the patients and visitors which will be provided in second phase starting from March.
Mrs. Sadia Rashid in a message issued on the occasion of the inauguration of the digital matab, said that the life of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said was a shining example of serving the poor and deserving communities. “Throughout his life, he remained committed to the ideals of helping and serving every deserving Pakistani. Even today, Hamdard adheres to his philosophy of public service and provides free medical counseling to patients.” Health is a blessing of Allah and a healthy society is formed only by the healthy people. Improving the health sector in Pakistan and providing quality medical services to the patients is the main is the main objective of Hamdard Pakistan. The establishment of digital matab has been implemented under a comprehensive program of reforms and modern technology has been utilized to bring the clinics in line with the requirements of modern times.”
