ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has urged the international community to hold India responsible for endangering peace in the region.
In a statement on Tuesday, the foreign minister said the world has realised that a fascist Hindutva regime is governing India, which was considered as a secular state. The minister said, “We presented before the world irrefutable evidence of India’s sponsorship of terrorism inside Pakistan through a dossier on November 14 last year. The EU DisinfoLab’s recent report has confirmed our reservations.”
Regarding WhatsApp conversation of Indian journalist Arnab Goshwani, he said that the chat has exposed that the Pulwama attack was staged for political gains. He said that Pakistan will continue to expose the true face of India before the world. India, he said, is using the media as a tool to malign Pakistan through fabricated stories.
Qureshi said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is trying to cover up unrest within its ranks. He said that there are similarities in the narrative of the opposition alliance and the enemies of the country.
He further said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is playing on both sides of the wicket and it is using PDM for its own political gains. The PPP has clearly said that they will not resign from the assemblies.
On rumour of recognition of Israel by Pakistan, Qureshi said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has categorically said that Pakistan will not recognise Israel. Banners regarding Israel are being displaced in Karachi for political reasons and hoped that people of Karachi will not give any importance to them, he added.
Qureshi said that Pakistan wants peace in the region, including Afghanistan. He said, “We want that the intra-Afghan dialogue reaches its logical conclusion successfully.” He said the international community is well aware of the efforts of Pakistan for peace in Afghanistan. – TLTP
