KARACHI: China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a collection of infrastructure projects, is improving Pakistan’s connectivity not only within itself and China, but with over 60 other countries, which are part of the land route of China’s Belt and Road Initiative involving infrastructure development and investments offering huge prospects of growth and trade. This was stated by former Additional Director General Federal Investigation Agency, Founder and Chairman Digital Pakistan Ammar Jaffary in the opening ceremony of International Silk Road Summit held at Pakistan Institute of Management, here Wednesday.
He said that Pakistan is sorely lacking in utilizing information technology for its Industrial development requirement but after adopting IOT and Block Chain solutions will change its growth dynamics.
In his address, Colonel (Retd) Maqbool Afridi said that Gwadar is not only the future of Pakistan but it’s also the main component of CPEC but unfortunately there is no electricity and water in this City which is questioning CPEC rapid development. Gwadar natural deep Sea Port has the capacity of 40 million TEU which is No. 4 in the World in Transit Trade will connect the entire world as much better as there any other port of the world will lower down the cost of Sea Trade fare because of its Centrally location.
Chancellor Indus University Kahalid Amin emphasized on the need to make use of modern education technological systems and methods that could cope with present-day challenges.
Former Chairman Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) and Brand Ambassador Silk Road Summit Abdul Kareem Aadhia said that Second phase of CPEC will help revamp the basic infrastructure of the country by modern construction techniques and appreciated the conference organizers for organizing first time 07 Days Virtual Conference during COVID-19 which can be seen in many countries which ultimately enhance Pakistan’s soft image.
The two female moderators of the conference Ms. Sadaf Khalid, CEO, SDGs Academy and Ms. Irum Fawad, CEO, DAP presented the emerging new ideas and informed the participants that so many bilateral trade agreements are in the pipeline which will execute after this conference.
