ISLAMABAD: The coronavirus continued wreaking havoc in the country as 144 new coronavirus deaths were reported during the last 24 hours, raising the total death tally to 16,842.
According to the latest data issued by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 5,870 new coronavirus cases have been recorded.
At least 53,818 coronavirus tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, out of which 5,870 came back positive. The coronavirus positivity rate in Pakistan stood at 10.90 percent with 84,976 active cases across the country. In addition to this, 682,290 people have recovered from the virus in the country so far.
According to the official portal, the total number of coronavirus patients in Sindh has reached 275,815 while 4,576 people have died so far.
The highest ventilator occupancy was recorded in Gujranwala with 88 percent, 85 percent in Multan, 82 percent in Lahore, and 65 percent in Mardan.
At least 682,290 people have recovered from Covid-19 across Pakistan. There is no Covid-19 patient on ventilator support in Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan. As many as 562 ventilators are currently occupied across Pakistan.
Since the beginning of the outbreak, a total of 784,108 cases were detected, including 16,193 in AJK, 21,365 in Balochistan, 5,241 in GB, 72,150 in Islamabad, 110,875 in KP, 282,469 in Punjab and 275,815 in Sindh.
Among the 13,595 deaths, 4,576 occurred in Sindh, 7,799 in Punjab, 3,029 in K-P, 652 in Islamabad, 227 in Balochistan, 104 in GB, and 455 in AJK.
There are 633 hospitals with Covid-19 facilities in Pakistan with 2,394 patients currently admitted.
Sindh reported 855 new coronavirus cases during the past 24 hours, taking the tally to 276,669.
According to Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, 11 more patients succumbed to the deadly virus as the death toll jumped to 4,587. He further said that 329 patients recovered overnight, taking the total to 261,871.
At least 1,265 new Covid-19 cases emerged in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours, lifting the tally to 112,140. As per health authorities, 37 more patients have fallen prey to the deadly disease as the fatalities surged to 3,066. As many as 945 patients recovered overnight, taking the total to 94,675. – TLTP
