ISLAMABAD: An exhibition of seized counterfeit items was inaugurated on 26th April 2021 at the Directorate of IPR Enforcement (North), Custom House, Islamabad Mr. Mirza Mubashir Baig, Director IPR Enforcement North and Ms. Kanwal Ali Additional Director Directorate of IPRE North gave a briefing on each case showcased in this exhibition.
This happened for the first time which attracted a large no. of audience from the media fraternity, people from academia and personnel from other law enforcement agencies. The purpose of the exhibition was to create awareness on IP laws and to share the contribution of Directorate of IPR Enforcement North in implementing those laws within the region. A large number of seized counterfeit items like shampoos, watches, cosmetics, insecticides, perfumes, bags etc were on display.
The attendees of the exhibition greatly lauded the efforts of the Directorate of IPR North Islamabad.
An Online Training on Counterfeit Medicines and Medical Devices is also organised by The Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement in collaboration with US Patents and Trademarks Organization (USPTO) and Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) has successfully designed a virtual program expanding over several weeks on counterfeit medicines and medical devices.
A total of 98 participants have been nominated from all over Pakistan Customs to attend this program. The participants include BS 16-20 officers of Pakistan Customs. This is one of the largest groups of online training participants arranged by Directorate of IPR Enforcement North. Ms. Kanwal Ali Additional Director Directorate of IPRE North was nominated as the focal person for this training.
